The role begins as a consulting assignment via Vindex with good opportunities for continued employment with the client, and we hope that the right person can start within two months.

About the role

As a payroll specialist with our client, you will be a central part of the finance team and responsible for ensuring that payroll processing is done correctly, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable laws, agreements, and internal guidelines. You will work with the entire payroll process — from data entry and payroll preparation to reporting and follow-up — and ensure that routines and processes function optimally and with high quality. In addition to operational payroll work, you will be part of a cross-functional collaboration where you both support other internal functions and contribute to improvement and efficiency initiatives within the payroll area. You will also have ongoing contact with employees and managers regarding payroll-related questions and ensure that inquiries are handled professionally and with a high level of service.

Location: Malmö, with a flexible hybrid solution, 2–3 days in the office

Main responsibilities

• Administer and ensure the quality of salaries and payments in the business system
• Interpret and apply collective agreements, laws and regulations, employment contracts, and internal policies
• Participate in improvement projects regarding payroll processes and routines
• Ensure correct reporting to authorities
• Support managers and employees with payroll-related questions
• Contact with employees, managers, and internal functions for payroll-related inquiries.
• Ad hoc tasks within payroll, such as handling special cases or investigations

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in payroll or equivalent through work experience
• Several years of experience in qualified payroll administration work, preferably with several different collective agreements
• Good system proficiency and experience with payroll systems (e.g., Agda, Hogia, Kontek or other relevant systems)
• Experience in interpreting and applying labor law, tax legislation, and collective agreements
• Experience in reporting to authorities and handling pensions/benefits
• Ability to work independently, structured, and with high accuracy
• Good communication skills and service orientation in contacts with employees and managers
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
