Job Responsibilities

Do you want to be part of creating a safe school environment for our students at Söderkullaskolan? Take the opportunity as one of our student coordinators is moving north, and we are now looking for her replacement.

In your role as a student coordinator, you will work with the core values of the curriculum. You will be a key person in our attendance-promoting work based on the Absence Ladder. One of your tasks will also be to be responsible for the break hall and to be active in student groups during the school day. You will support and motivate students, both at the group and individual level, and work for a good working and learning environment for the students. In collaboration with teachers, student health, and other staff, you will work systematically to design and develop a safer school environment for all students. You will create and maintain good and safe relationships without compromising the school's rules. You must be skilled at both preventing and managing conflicts and fights between students. Establishing and investigating cases of harassment may also be part of your assignment.

With us, you will never feel alone in your assignment. You will work closely with our other student coordinator, our two teaching assistants, the teachers, and the counselor. You will also participate in the middle school's student health team meetings. Your assignment includes coaching conversations, mediation between students, listening and giving advice, meetings with guardians, and collaborating with external actors. It is important for us that you are flexible as the tasks can vary greatly from day to day. You have authority and presence, but a low-arousal approach. You are secure in yourself, have good self-awareness, and share Malmö City's core values. Other tasks related to the school's activities may be added. Together, we create an operation that meets the needs of the school's students and guardians in the best way!

Qualifications

You who are applying have a relevant university degree in, for example, pedagogy, health, or behavioral science, which gives you extensive knowledge of the school's governing documents and the conditions for students in need of special support. Furthermore, you have experience working with youth aged 13-16, preferably in a school setting. Your proficiency in the Swedish language is very good, both spoken and written. It is an advantage if you have experience working as a student coordinator or in a similar role, as well as if you have previously performed and been responsible for attendance-promoting work based on the Absence Ladder and Skola24.

To perform the assignment well, you need to be skilled at creating and maintaining good and safe relationships. Furthermore, good documentation, collaboration, and structured work skills are required. It is important for us that you are proactive, flexible, and have authority, but also a low-arousal approach. You are secure in yourself, have good self-awareness, and share Malmö City's core values.

Welcome with your application!
