Workplace Description

The Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts Library provides user-oriented services to the faculty's students, teachers, and researchers, as well as to the public in the fields of art, music education, music, and theater.

The library actively collaborates within the library network at Lund University and participates in various groups to develop library services and offerings. The Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts Library is a workplace in transition, focusing on creating the library of the future. We are now looking for a student assistant who is studying in one of our programs for part-time work at the library's information desk. With a position as a student assistant, you will have the opportunity to combine studies with work and complement your theoretical knowledge with practical work experience.

Job Responsibilities

  • Staffing the information desk
  • Basic library tasks such as loans, book shelving, and labeling of books
  • The Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts offers programs in both Swedish and English, and you will use both languages at the library's loan desk. Some independent work is included in the desk duties, and you need to be able to make independent decisions based on given frameworks.

Qualifications

To be eligible for employment as a student assistant, you must be enrolled in full-time studies at the university level in Sweden, have completed approved studies corresponding to at least 60 higher education credits, and not have started a doctoral program.

Requirements for the position are:

  • Admitted to a program at the Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts, Lund University
  • Excellent knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • Good IT skills
  • You are responsible and self-driven
  • You are organized and have a good sense of order
  • You are service-oriented

Desirable for the position is:

Experience in library work or other service-related work. Consideration will be given to how the applicant, through their personal characteristics, experiences, and competencies, is assessed to complement and strengthen the work within the library operations and contribute to its future development.

Other Information

The employment is limited to the period from 260901 to 270611 and is for a 10% position. You will work according to a fixed schedule to be established in agreement between you and the employer. The Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts in Malmö is one of eight faculties within Lund University and consists of the Academy of Fine Arts, the Academy of Music, and the Academy of Theatre, as well as the Inter Arts Center. At the Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts, there are bachelor's, master's, and master's programs in fine arts, music, and theater, as well as a number of courses of varying scope. Research training and research with an artistic focus and in music education are also conducted here.
