Unit Manager at IVO

We are looking for a unit manager for IVO, located in the department for permit assessment. The department is responsible for permit assessments for individual operations according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons (LSS), as well as certain permit assessments within healthcare. The department consists of approximately 80 employees distributed across four units and a staff unit, and is located in Stockholm.
The unit you will be responsible for works with the assessment of permits to conduct operations in accordance with SoL or LSS based on the operation's ability to offer good quality. The unit is also responsible for preparing incoming applications for further processing by complementing with documentation from other authorities as well as fee and registry management. The unit currently has about fifteen employees.
The Role of Unit Manager
As a unit manager, you will be responsible for a unit and lead the department together with other managers in the department. You will have operational, personnel, and budget responsibilities and report directly to the department head, as well as being part of the department's management group. You will also be part of the agency's management group, which collectively takes responsibility for the agency's development and daily operations. As a unit manager, you are also a decision-maker in accordance with IVO's delegation order. In your work, you will come into contact with representatives of permit-required operations, social services and their staff, as well as the public and media. Furthermore, you will represent IVO in external cooperation with other authorities.
As a unit manager, you will be responsible for good quality and efficiency in the ongoing permit assessments. An important part of the work is to set production goals together with employees, identify what is needed to achieve the goals, and follow up on their achievement. You also play a crucial role in driving change work in collaboration with other units and departments.
Requirements Profile
We are looking for someone who is a structured, engaged, and caring manager and leader. You are good at collaborating and getting things done and projects completed. You lead in a clear and coaching manner and create the conditions necessary for employees and partners to be involved and engaged. You have good knowledge of SoL and LSS and understand the importance and seriousness of IVO's mission. You have a good understanding and interest in the task of ensuring good quality and efficiency in the handling of cases. You are results- and development-oriented and have the ability to balance ongoing core operations and development work. In the recruitment process, we will place great emphasis on your personal qualities and abilities.
We are looking for someone who has:
- A university degree with a focus on social sciences, law, or social work, or another focus that the agency deems relevant.
- Several years of current managerial experience with budget, operational, and personnel responsibilities.
- Experience in state operations within the healthcare and social care sector and knowledge of the laws and regulations governing state operations.
- Experience in motivating employees to perform and creating a good work environment.
- Experience in initiating, driving, and implementing development and change work.
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience in permit assessments.
- Competence to be proactive in digital development and information security work.
- Experience in working to combat welfare crime and/or unscrupulous actors.
- Experience in representing the employer in internal and external contexts.

The employment is a permanent position with an initial six-month probationary period. Start date is according to agreement, and the position is located in Stockholm.
