Office for Development of Core Processes, Prime Minister's Office

Do you want to lead the work of developing core processes with the support of digital tools? Do you have an interest in and previous experience of leading development work and good knowledge of several of the Government Offices' processes? We offer the right person an exciting role with many points of contact.

An extensive work to develop the working methods in the core operations with the support of digital tools has been carried out by the Program for digitization of core processes. Considering the long-term nature in which the work will continue to be conducted, the program is now being transformed into an office.

The Office for Development of Core Processes will drive and coordinate the development of the core business's working methods with the support of digital tools in accordance with the established direction for the development work. This means that the office will

  • Review working methods in the core business and propose how these should be developed.
  • Describe and translate the core business needs in software development.
  • Staff the projects conducted within the office's area of responsibility with project managers and product owners.
  • Ensure that the digitized processes are in line with applicable regulations.
  • Consult and anchor the developed working methods with the ministries.
  • Quality assure the deliveries from a business perspective.
  • Support the ministries in undergoing the changes required to work according to the developed work methods.

As the head of the office, you are responsible for the work within the office, which includes planning, coordinating, driving, and following up on the operations. Important tasks will include staffing the projects being conducted and, together with the respective project managers, identifying and scheduling the activities included in the various projects. You continuously support the various projects and ensure that deliveries are made within the given timeframe and ensure the quality of the development work. Another important task is to coordinate change work in relation to the ministries. You have personnel responsibility for a group of currently 6 employees.

The role involves many points of contact both with the ministries and in the Prime Minister's Office and the Administrative Department.

Your background

We are looking for someone with experience in leading, driving, and coordinating development work and projects, which also includes digitization of business processes. You need to have experience in several of the Government Offices' processes, such as the legislative and budget processes, knowledge of the Government Offices portal or other equivalent application based on Business Process Management tools is meritorious. Previous experience of change work and of leading operations and personnel with positive results is a requirement. The development of core processes must be done in accordance with applicable regulations. To be successful in the role, you need to have very good legal knowledge. Therefore, your educational background is a jurist, and it is meritorious if you are a court of appeal or administrative court assessor.

To succeed in the role, you need experience in driving issues that affect many stakeholders and be able to create consensus among them. We want you to have experience working in a role with many points of contact and have a habit of communicating with management and others in the organization; you need to understand what it is like to work in a politically governed organization and understand the demands of politics.

Your qualities

As a person, you have the ability to lead and develop operations towards set goals, which requires that you can understand a larger context and coordinate different interests. You have very good cooperation skills and can lead and motivate employees with good results. You carry out your work with very good judgment, high integrity, and are self-reliant with the ability to take your own initiatives. The work requires your analytical skills, and you have an easy time understanding complex issues. Furthermore, you are proactive and self-driven in your work, and you have very good communication skills in both speech and writing.

The position is permanent with a temporary chief appointment for five years.

The position is classified as security class, and a security check with a register check will be conducted before a decision on employment is made. You must be a Swedish citizen, but may have a foreign background.
