JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Within the Support Services, you will assist individuals with various types of disabilities.

Personal Assistance:

Personal assistants work in the client’s home and at other locations where the client is. The tasks are tailored to the client's needs and wishes, which means that the work of a personal assistant looks different everywhere.

Children and Youth Services:

You can work with children and young people who have various physical and/or mental disabilities. The way you work varies; there are recreational activities that take place for shorter periods and respite services that usually last from one to several days.

Group Housing:

In a group housing within support services, a few individuals with various physical and/or mental disabilities live. Those who live here have greater support and service needs, and there is staff available around the clock. You who work here are the clients' extended arm in everyday life with the goal that they can live and reside as similarly to others as possible.

Group Housing with a Focus on Social Psychiatry:

In a group housing with a focus on social psychiatry, a few individuals who need extra help around the clock live. This may be due to issues such as substance abuse and/or mental health problems. In these group homes, you work to support the clients with the goal that they can live and reside as similarly to others as possible.

Job Tasks

As a summer worker in support services, no two days are the same! The work is adapted to the person who needs support. The clients' daily condition, wishes, and abilities vary, which makes the work diverse.

Examples of tasks: Cooking, supporting activities, social interaction, motivating, communicating, cleaning, laundry, and personal hygiene.

Working Hours:

The working hours also vary within support services. Sometimes you work long shifts, but that also means you get many days off in a month. It is common to have on-call duties where you stay overnight at the group home or at the client’s home. With some clients, you may be awake if you work nights. The job also includes work on certain holidays, but if you have worked on the weekend, you will have equal weekdays off instead. Solo work may occur.

QUALIFICATIONS

Personal Attributes:

You are good with people, enjoy collaborating, and getting things done. You are communicative, responsible, and ensure that the whole works. We use digital tools as a natural part of our work, so you need to feel comfortable using a mobile phone, computer, and other digital technology as work tools.

Education:

Care education, psychiatry education, child and leisure education, or other relevant education is meritorious, but we also seek those who do not have any education.

Experience:

Experience in similar work is strongly meritorious. Experience with low-arousal approaches, care and support, epilepsy, autism, or psychiatry is also meritorious, but other work with people and service is seen as a valuable asset.

Language:

To ensure that instructions and documentation are done safely and understandably, you must master the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.

Age:

You must be at least 18 years old to be able to work with us during the summer.

Before offering employment, we will request an extract from the Police Authority's criminal record.

We offer full-time employment and can, if desired, adjust the working hours to part-time.

We will, of course, provide you with an introductory training that makes you feel secure and comfortable with your tasks. We actively work with learning in the workgroup and care about providing a good working environment.
