Description

Resident Guides is an initiative working to reach more residents with important civic information and strengthen local democratic participation. Currently, we have Resident Guides working in three of our city districts (Hisingen, Nordost, Sydväst).

Job Responsibilities

As a Resident Guide, you will work to serve as a communication channel between the City of Gothenburg's operations and the residents of Hisingen.

As a Resident Guide, you will work proactively in various contexts, often out on the streets and squares. You will hold meetings, conversations, and dialogues in public environments and contexts. You will work on various assignments, the majority of which are within the field of health.

Your responsibilities include:

  1. Distributing information and talking to residents on squares and streets.
  2. Working proactively to reach the target group.
  3. Leading or participating in activities taking place in the local area, for example, on a market day.
  4. As a Resident Guide, helping to provide an image of the residents' opinions and thoughts.

You will be part of a work group with several Resident Guides and have a local coordinator to support the planning of the work.

The position is a project employment until 2028-12-31.

Qualifications

For this position, we require that you have a strong interest and commitment to issues concerning society and democracy. You have a broad network and a strong connection to the Hisingen district. For example, through being, or having been, active in an association, voluntary activity, or some civil society organization working in the area. We see that you have a strong interest in health-related issues. If you also have education or other experience within health, fitness, or equivalent, we view this as meritorious.

You speak Swedish and English fluently. If you also have other language skills, such as Arabic, Somali, or one of our national minority languages, we view this as meritorious.

To perform the duties of the job well, it is important that you are communicative, can inform clearly, and adapt your communication based on the recipient. You should also be comfortable in social contact areas, both informal and formal. You stand by decisions made and can convey uncomfortable messages when necessary.

It is also important that you can collaborate with others to perform tasks and achieve the set goals. By being interested and creating understanding for others, you work for a respectful work climate. You are service-oriented and have an interest, willingness, and ability to help others, and you strive to find solutions.

Against this background, we will request a certificate of good conduct from the Police's criminal record register for final candidates.
