About the project

Active Åmål is an ESF-funded project aimed at strengthening opportunities for work, studies, or other meaningful activities for individuals who are far from the labor market. The project is based on close cooperation between the municipality, healthcare, the Swedish Public Employment Service, and other actors, and will reach approximately 300 participants during the period.

The core of the work is a cross-professional team and the establishment of adapted employment and work training positions, where participants are given the opportunity to gradually develop their work capacity.

Your role

As a Job Consultant, you work closely with the participants and are a key part of their journey toward self-sufficiency. Your main tasks include:

• Mapping participants' resources, needs, and work capacity
• Planning and implementing individualized interventions
• Supporting participants in work training and employment
• Monitoring progress and contributing to participants' step-by-step transition to work or studies
• Collaborating with colleagues in a cross-professional team (social services, healthcare, labor market, education)
• Building relationships and using motivational approaches with participants with complex issues

The role involves both practical work within the operation and strategic work regarding the individual's development.

You will work with people who often have:

• Long-term unemployment
• Illness or disability
• Low educational level
• Need for coordinated interventions from multiple actors

The target group is often characterized by complex life situations where unemployment, health, and social factors interact.

Who are you

We are looking for you who have a strong commitment to people and their development and who thrive in collaboration with others.

Formal competence requirements

• Relevant post-secondary education (e.g., social work, behavioral science, or similar)
• Experience working with labor market initiatives, rehabilitation, or social support
• Ability to work in an individualized and solution-focused manner
• Experience with target groups far from the labor market
• Experience with work training or work capacity assessment
• Knowledge of collaboration between authorities (Public Employment Service, Social Insurance Agency, municipality, healthcare)
• Competence in motivational interviewing, rehabilitative working methods, or inclusion
• The position requires a valid B-class driver's license
• Digital identification with BankID

Merits

Experience and competence within CBT, stress management, or similar.

Employment

The position is subject to necessary decisions being made. Fixed-term project employment at 100% from 2026-11-01 to 2029-06-30.

The Job Consultant is currently placed within the Work and Adult Learning operations in the Welfare and Labor Market Administration, which is organized directly under the Welfare and Labor Market Board. The direct manager is the Operations Manager.
