Liljeholmen Gymnasium is a school offering Language Introduction (IMS) and Individual Alternatives (IMA). The school also has groups with a special pedagogical profile and groups focusing on students within the autism spectrum. The school has continuous intake of students into the Language Introduction program throughout the year. We offer instruction in Swedish as a Second Language for newly arrived youth aged 16–19. Here, over 300 students speak 50 different languages. The starting point for the school's work is responsibility, respect, and collaboration. Your role

We are looking for a certified teacher for grades 7–9 with qualifications in Swedish as a Second Language (SVA) and English. In this role, you will teach both subjects and be part of our operations in the Language Introduction program for the academic year 2026/2027. You are expected to work closely with colleagues in a two-teacher model and contribute to creating an inclusive and developmental learning environment for students with diverse backgrounds and prerequisites.

Work at the Language Introduction is characterized by a holistic perspective where teaching, language development, and integration go hand in hand. You will have the opportunity to work closely with students in their establishment in Swedish society and contribute to their continued educational journey.

Your main tasks also include:

  • planning, implementing, and following up on instruction in Swedish as a Second Language and English during the academic year 2026/2027
  • having a special focus on instruction in Swedish as a Second Language, primarily for students with weak or no previous school background
  • potentially serving as a mentor for a group of students in the Language Introduction program
  • participating in and conducting cultural and civic orientation activities that help students develop their understanding of Swedish society
  • contributing to study visits, excursions, and other activities that are a natural part of the Language Introduction operations
  • contributing to the development, adaptation, and construction of teaching materials in Swedish as a Second Language.

Your skills and experience

We are looking for someone who has:

  • qualifications in Swedish as a Second Language and English for grade 9
  • experience working with students who have weak or no school background
  • good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • experience working at IMS or IMA
  • experience working with teenagers or adults who have weak or no school background
  • experience working with students with NPF (Neurodevelopmental Disorders) and/or language difficulties.
