Your role

The role of substitute teacher involves stepping in with short notice to work for part of the day, a full day, or over a longer period, depending on the school's needs. During the school day, you are a present and active educator in the classroom, teaching students in grades F–6 according to a prepared plan.

As a teacher substitute, you teach students in grades F-6 and are responsible for conducting lessons according to the given plan or, if necessary, independently creating materials to conduct the lessons. This may also include participating in students' recess activities. After the end of the day, you are responsible for providing written feedback to the regular teacher.

As an after-school substitute or resource substitute, you work together with class teachers during the school day and participate in various after-school activities after school ends. Together with your colleagues, you plan and conduct stimulating and pedagogical activities for the students at the after-school center.

Your experience

For this position, you are required to have:

• a secondary education (gymnasial utbildning)
• very good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

It is an advantage if you also have:

• experience substituting as a teacher
• experience working with students in need of special support
• started or completed teacher education.

Your pedagogical insight allows you to meet students at their level, create an engaging environment, and contribute to their development.

To deliver in this role, it is important that you are flexible, adaptable, and reachable. You answer the phone and can quickly get to the school with short notice. You have no problem working in different roles and with children of different ages. You can handle many different tasks and working methods simultaneously, and you adapt easily to changed circumstances and the needs of the organization.
