Hello!

My name is Karin Harnesk, and I hope to become your new manager. As a leader, I am energetic, development-oriented, and clear. Together with the Assistant Principals, I work to develop conscious teaching where children's learning and development are at the center. I believe in the power of collaboration and that we develop the operations best together. For me, it is important to create a culture where we take responsibility, learn from each other, and dare to try new ideas.

In our management group, we work closely together and support each other in both opportunities and challenges. We are now looking for you who want to be an active part of this work and who thrive in an operationally close role where relationships, quality, and development are at the center.

As a manager in Stockholm City, you are offered introduction, management training, and ongoing competence development in leadership, operational development, and employer issues.

Your role

As an Assistant Principal, you have operational and operationally close responsibility for the unit's preschools. You lead, develop, and follow up on the operations in close collaboration with the Principal and other Assistant Principals. Your task is to contribute to equal quality by ensuring that the operations are conducted based on the curriculum, the School Act, the Municipal Council's goals, and Södermalm's pedagogical stances.

You lead preschools with different prerequisites and development needs, which requires situational leadership where you see both each operation's specific needs and the whole in the unit.

You have budget, work environment, and personnel responsibility for approximately 35 employees and work systematically with goals, results, and quality work. Through clear and trust-based leadership, you create conditions for employees to take responsibility, develop, and succeed in their assignments.

We are looking for you who thrive close to the operations. You are present in the daily life of the preschools, support the educators, and are curious about what is happening in the operations. You work to create engagement, participation, and responsibility-taking and see the value of developing both people and the organization.

As an Assistant Principal, you are part of the preschool area's management group together with the Principal, other Assistant Principals, and the administrator.

Your competence and experience

We are looking for you who have:

• a pedagogical university degree with preschool teacher certification
• at least five years of work as a preschool teacher in preschool
• experience in a supervisory role within preschool, for example as a coordinator, site manager, or similar
• good knowledge of preschool's governing documents
• good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing

It is meritorious if you have:

• previous managerial experience
• completed or started principal training
• experience in operational development, quality work, or change management
• experience from a politically governed organization

Your personal skills

To succeed in the role, you need to have a good overall view and be able to weigh together the operations' different needs in your decisions. You work in a goal-oriented and structured manner and have the ability to translate goals into concrete results. You are clear in your communication and ensure that expectations, decisions, and assignments are well anchored. At the same time, you have good collaboration skills and build trusting relationships with employees, colleagues, and guardians. We are also looking for you who are development-oriented and see opportunities for improvement and learning. You contribute with engagement, new thinking, and a professional approach in daily work.

Great importance will be attached to personal suitability and leadership skills.
