The Role and Responsibilities

As a Special Needs Teacher at Riksten School, you play a vital role in our organization. You are part of our team of special needs teachers and special educators, who, together with the Student Health and Welfare Service (SHWS), collaborate with teachers to ensure our students have the best possible conditions for learning, regardless of their needs.

• You teach students and provide both general support and special support in various school subjects.
• You support and challenge teachers in finding the best adaptations in teaching and the most appropriate support for students.
• You maintain regular contact with guardians and follow up on support measures and interventions.
• You are delegated by the principal to ensure that investigations into students' need for special support and action plans are drawn up in accordance with the Education Act and the school's student health plan.
• You collaborate closely with the Student Health and Welfare Service and colleagues within the spectrum team for early detection of students in need of support, working in a cross-professional manner to provide adequate support.

What We Offer You

Riksten School is a grades F-9 school with approximately 770 students in the autumn of 2026, located in an expanding area in Tullinge. The school is surrounded by fantastic nature, and the location is suitable for both indoor and outdoor teaching. The proximity to Lida and Brantbrink forests is often utilized by the school for days where students and educators can share wonderful experiences together.

As a Special Needs Teacher with us, you belong to the "Arbetslag Spec" work group and the Student Health and Welfare Service unit. You collaborate with competent and experienced colleagues who all have the student's best interests at heart. The Student Health and Welfare Service includes all relevant competencies: school nurse, counselor, study and career counselor, school psychologist, and school leadership. We also have educational dogs as part of our special educational provision.

Who You Are

Requirements:

• You have a teaching license and experience teaching regular classes in primary school grades F-3.
• You have a license as a Special Needs Teacher.
• You have experience mentoring and supporting teachers in developing and adapting their teaching to meet students' needs.
• You are skilled at building good relationships and communicating with colleagues, students, and guardians in a positive and professional manner.
• You are enthusiastic and can inspire others to want to do more or try new things.
• You are structured and clear in planning, implementation, and follow-up.
• You evaluate your own efforts and develop and improve based on results and needs.
• You have strong analytical skills and can see the big picture and patterns.

Merits: It is an advantage if you have qualifications/competence in Swedish as a Second Language, problematic school absenteeism, or NPF (Neurodevelopmental Conditions).

You are team-oriented and find it easy to build relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. We also value that you are structured and have good routines for your work. Personal suitability is of great importance.
