Are you a biomedical scientist or nurse and want to combine patient-facing work with specialist competence in transfusion medicine? With us, you will have a varied role within blood donation and the opportunity to develop within Skåne's unique apheresis operations.

The Area of Activity (VO) for Clinical Immunology and Transfusion Medicine (KIT) operates at ten hospitals in Skåne and employs over 200 staff. The activity is responsible for laboratory operations in clinical immunology, transfusion medicine, and transplant immunology, as well as blood donation in Skåne. KIT has a mandate to provide the healthcare system in Region Skåne with high-quality blood components to enable modern healthcare for both acute and chronic conditions. The activity is accredited, and some parts of the operations are centralized to Lund. We are organized in processes with unit managers, medical directors, and process leaders working in close collaboration.

At the Blood Centre Kattesund in Lund, ten staff members work. Our workplace is centrally located in fresh facilities with proximity to lunch restaurants, shops, and high foot traffic.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for an engaged biomedical scientist or nurse who wants to become part of our team.

As a biomedical scientist/nurse with us, your tasks are varied and include, among other things, working with blood donors, reception duties, and approving donors before blood donation. You are also responsible for the blood donation process and monitoring the donor's general condition during and shortly after the donation. The place of employment is Lund, but there is some rotation to the Blood Centre Triangeln in Malmö.

At Kattesund in Lund, we conduct Skåne's apheresis donation for plasma and platelets, which offers a development opportunity to learn after standard blood donation.

Recruiting new blood donors is of great importance to our operations. We naturally expect an interest from you in participating in various events/marketing campaigns and viewing the personal meeting with new potential donors as a challenge and a positive part of the job. You will also participate in operational development, as well as mentoring and training students and new colleagues. Your working hours are scheduled on weekdays during day and evening shifts, as well as Saturdays.

QUALIFICATIONS

You must be a licensed biomedical scientist or a licensed nurse with the right to practice in Swedish healthcare. Proficiency in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale is a requirement. You are interested in working with blood donors, and it is meritorious if you have worked in a blood centre or similar operations.
