The position is located within the Integration and Labour Market Administration, which is one of eight administrations in Linköping Municipality. We strengthen the opportunities for residents of Linköping who rely on financial assistance to become self-sufficient and independent. We also contribute to competence supply for Linköping Municipality and the business community.
Do you want to brighten everyday life and improve the quality of life for the people of Linköping? With us, you can make a significant difference and contribute to making Linköping a better place. Welcome to us!
Your Responsibilities
We are looking for a dedicated labour market consultant for an exciting and operational role where you make a real difference for the individual. In your role, you work closely with participants in various labour market initiatives with the overarching goal of helping them become self-sufficient through studies or work.
You work in a coaching manner using Motivational Interviewing (MI) and from a systems theory perspective to understand and meet the individual's holistic situation. A large part of the work involves coordinating combined interventions, such as Swedish for Immigrants (SFI), studies, language practice, and paid work. You support participants both individually and through group activities focused on job searching and labour market knowledge, as well as through internships or labour market placements. We also apply the Supported Employment method to best support people with mental health issues in approaching the labour market.
Your work is outward-facing and involves many contact points – internally with participants and colleagues, and externally with actors such as the Swedish Public Employment Service, healthcare, and private employers. You are responsible for ensuring that the purpose and objectives of each intervention are clearly anchored with all parties, and you also handle ongoing administration and follow-up regarding your participants.
Your Workplace
The mission of the Integration and Labour Market Administration is to strengthen the opportunities for residents of Linköping in need of financial assistance to become self-sufficient and independent, as well as to contribute to local competence supply for the municipality and business life. Here, approximately 300 employees work closely together with residents, business life, the voluntary sector, and other public actors within the remit of the Labour Market Board.
Your home base will be the Integration Unit, which is part of the Working Life and Social Security Department. Our mission is directed towards newly arrived immigrants, and we are responsible for the entire reception process. We process applications and coordinate interventions related to integration through work, studies, good economy, and housing. We are a development-oriented unit that continuously evaluates and refines our working methods. Here, unit coordinators, integration assistants, social secretaries, and labour market consultants work closely together to create the best conditions for our target groups and shorten the establishment period.
Your workplace is located at Drottninggatan 45 in central Linköping. Working hours are during the day (07:50–17:00), with shortened hours until 16:00 during the summer months. We apply flexible working hour agreements.
You Who Apply
We are looking for you who have a university degree as a social worker, behavioural scientist, or within social and cultural analysis. For this role, it is a requirement that you have experience working as a labour market consultant. The work also presupposes that you have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
It is meritorious if you have experience working in public operations as well as coaching people in need of support. We also see it as meritorious if you have experience working based on the Supported Employment method, Motivational Interviewing (MI) as a conversation method, and work with systems theory. Furthermore, it is meritorious if you have experience performing progression measurements regarding work capacity. Additionally, it is meritorious to have knowledge of and experience working in the operational system Lifecare, good knowledge of labour market issues, and knowledge of languages other than Swedish.
To succeed in the role, you are structured; you plan, organize, and prioritize your work in an effective manner and set and maintain timeframes. You have very good collaboration skills, which means you work well with other people, relate to them in a listening and smooth manner, and listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts constructively. Your relationship-building skills make you outgoing and socially active in professional contexts where you create contacts and maintain relationships. Since you meet people with different backgrounds, you have a high awareness of diversity; you value differences, understand how background, culture, and group membership affect yourself and others, and take this into consideration when decisions are made and courses of action are chosen. Finally, you are flexible and change-oriented; you adapt easily to changed circumstances, can quickly change your perspective, and see opportunities in changes.
In this recruitment, we may use tests as part of our assessment.
Please note that answers to questions regarding the position may be delayed due to the holiday period.
We warmly welcome your application!
