Welcome to us

We are looking for an engaged, certified special needs teacher with high competence and experience in teaching various groups.

Skarpatorpsskolan is located in the district of Skarpnäck and has approximately 540 students and 100 employees. It is an F-9 school (preschool to grade 9) situated in the heart of Skarpnäck, with close proximity to both nature and the subway station.

Your role

We are seeking a special needs teacher for instruction in various groups, such as special education groups and individual tutoring.

As a special needs teacher, your responsibilities include:

  • Taking responsibility for and having insight into student results, meaning being attuned to each student's prerequisites and needs.
  • Having high expectations for the students and their ability to develop.
  • Capturing and stimulating students' curiosity, interest, and learning.
  • Taking responsibility for relevant competence development to grow and develop within the profession.

Together with your teaching colleagues, you conduct high-quality teaching, constantly test and develop methods, and work purposefully to enhance student learning and improve results.

You provide special support and teach students in need of special support, both individually and in special education groups, based on the planning of the responsible teachers.

You provide students with alternative pedagogical tools where needed.

You collaborate with responsible teachers regarding students who receive special support from the special needs teacher. Collaboration occurs as needed and based on decisions by the Student Health Team (SHT).

You contribute knowledge about various alternative compensatory tools for student learning and development, as well as general and practical adjustments in the learning environment at the individual and group level, during teacher and subject conferences.

What we offer

The teachers have a subject group meeting once a week where teaching and knowledge development are discussed. Topics covered include systematic quality work, equitable assessments, language-developing approaches, clarifying pedagogy, cooperative learning, and digital competence. Joint assessments are conducted at teacher meetings at least once a month.

Your competence and experience

We are looking for you who have a teaching certification as a special needs teacher/special educator and as a teacher for grades 4–9. You have good collaboration skills, are flexible, solution-focused, and proactive.

You have very strong subject matter knowledge.

You see collegial learning as a natural starting point for creating new and deepened knowledge.

You lead and organize the work so that a safe learning environment based on mutual respect and collaboration is created.

You follow up, assess, communicate, and document the student's knowledge development, thereby supporting the student towards increasingly conscious learning.
