About International English School Kista

International English School (IES) Kista is part of Sweden's largest and most successful network of bilingual schools, accepting students in grades F–9. IES Kista has 640 students and 79 employees. We follow the Swedish curriculum (Lgr22), where up to 50% of the teaching takes place in English.

We are now looking for engaged and flexible substitute teachers who can step in as needed with short notice.

About the Role

As a substitute teacher at IES Kista, you will:

• Replace permanent teachers during short-term absences and lead lessons in various subjects for grades F–9.
• Follow lesson plans left by permanent teachers to ensure continuity in students' learning.
• Maintain good order and a calm study environment in the classroom in accordance with the school's rules of conduct.
• Be an active and visible adult in the hallways and during breaks.
• Collaborate with colleagues and school management to ensure the day runs as smoothly as possible for the students.
• Contribute to the school's positive and international atmosphere.

Qualifications

• You have completed upper secondary education. Started or completed pedagogical education is highly meritorious.
• You speak and write fluent Swedish and have very good knowledge of English, as we are a bilingual school.
• You are flexible, punctual, and have an easy time collaborating with different types of people.
• You have a natural ability to lead groups of children and create a sense of security in the classroom.
• Previous experience working with children or young people is required.

To work with us, we require a CV, a cover letter, and a valid extract from the Swedish Police Authority's register of convictions (belastningsregistret) for work in schools/preschools. Since the need for substitutes can arise suddenly, we are recruiting on an ongoing basis.
