About Us
The Cultural School is part of Culture Sundbyberg, the unit that works with culture for all ages. The Cultural School covers a range of different artistic expressions such as music, dance, theatre, visual arts, game development, and circus. Through courses, open creative activities, holiday programs, and much more, the Cultural School contributes to children and young people aged 4–20 in Sundbyberg and Solna having a meaningful leisure time.
As part of our mission to reach more children, we have been running El Sistema in the district of Rissne for ten years. El Sistema is based on music's power to strengthen community, self-esteem, and identity – where the orchestra is the central meeting place.
As a music teacher – piano accompanist, you will work closely with your colleagues with students at Grönkullaskolan and their families according to the El Sistema methodology. With the piano, you provide the musical context for the students. Your duties also include administration and contact with students and parents.
We want you to have a relevant music pedagogical degree in the subject of music teacher (violin).
To motivate the students and collaborate with the children's families and school staff requires a special commitment from the teachers working with El Sistema. Experience of working in regular schools is therefore desirable.
You should be interested in working from a social perspective with music as the primary tool and have experience working with groups. You should have the competence and ability to use song and movement in teaching to express, teach, and also create new music or other artistic expressions together with the children. An interest in language development and communication is also desirable.
We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
The position is a fixed-term part-time employment at 20%. Start date: August 10. Probationary period may apply. We do not accept applications via email.
