Danderyd Upper Secondary School – A school with high ambitions

Danderyd Upper Secondary School is one of Stockholm's largest upper secondary schools with approximately 1,400 students. The school consists of four university-preparatory programs (EK, NA, SA, TE) as well as a small adapted upper secondary school. The school also has a successful NIU (National Sports Education) operation, a nationally recruited mathematics elite program, and an AST (Advanced Studies in Teaching) operation within the SA program. The operations function well with various focuses and many fine traditions. Danderyd Upper Secondary School (Dagy) has high goals, and the vast majority of students continue to higher education.

Our goal is to be the best upper secondary school in the county. This means that our:

• Students learn the most of all
• Students feel well, enjoy the school, and have chosen to study with us
• Employees feel well

We take these goals seriously and investigate them regularly. Among other things, we analyze employee surveys and the proportion of first-choice applicants. Regarding our students learning the most, we are careful to ensure this is not measured solely by grades but also includes measures of grade inflation and socioeconomic analyses.

To achieve this goal, we focus primarily on developing teaching in an evidence-informed direction with a cognitive science focus. We offer our teachers in-depth competence development within the field of cognitive science as well as opportunities to practice the craft of teaching.

Danderyd Adapted Upper Secondary School

Danderyd Adapted Upper Secondary School is part of Danderyd Upper Secondary School but has its own premises adapted to its own operations in a separate part of the school. Lessons take place in own premises, but students move freely around the school to go to the cafeteria, library, and sports hall. This means that as a student you can be part of a large school but on your own terms. We have space for 16 students divided into two groups.

WORK ASSIGNMENTS

We are now looking for a special needs teacher with the qualification to teach theoretical subjects at our adapted upper secondary school.

The teaching covers the following subjects:

• English
• History
• Mathematics
• Natural Science
• Religious Education
• Social Studies
• Swedish

The position also includes mentorship as well as ongoing contact and collaboration with guardians. As a special needs teacher at our adapted upper secondary school, you will become part of a team consisting of two vocational teachers and one special needs teacher. You will work closely with the two other teachers in the work group to create a safe, developmental, and accessible learning environment for the students.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have:

• Qualification to teach students within the adapted upper secondary school.
• Good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish.
• Good knowledge of the mission and regulatory documents of the adapted upper secondary school.

It is meritorious if you have experience working with young people with intellectual disabilities or other special needs.

We are looking for you who are creative, team-oriented, and see the strength in working together towards common goals.

You are a secure and clear adult in the classroom with the ability to create varied teaching based on the students' individual prerequisites. You can meet the group's needs while seeing and supporting each individual student.

You have an inclusive approach, create good relationships, and contribute to a positive collaboration climate with both students and guardians as well as colleagues. We place great importance on personal suitability.

• Salary form: Monthly salary.
