Job Responsibilities

As a mother tongue teacher, you teach children and young people Finnish as their mother tongue. The teaching takes place outside regular school hours, in the afternoon at one of the municipality's schools.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and conduct teaching according to the curriculum in the subject of mother tongue.
  • Assess students' knowledge against the knowledge goals for the mother tongue subject.
  • Work and document in our operational systems.

The scope of this position is assessed to be equivalent to approximately 10% of full-time.

About the Operations

The Mother Tongue Unit works to support children and students in their learning. Together with other mother tongue teachers, you will drive and develop the operations based on our guiding documents and the goals in the curriculum as well as the course plan.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who:

  • Have Finnish as your mother tongue.
  • Express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
  • Have post-secondary education.
  • Have experience with bilingual teaching.
  • Are well acquainted with the guiding documents that apply to teaching and can translate these into meaningful learning.

As a person, you are responsible, structured, have a holistic view, and a professional demeanor. With engagement and the ability to work independently, and in a group, you find solutions to be able to offer teaching for all your students under current conditions.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability and teamwork skills.

Teacher certification is meritorious.

In Nykvarn Municipality, individual and differentiated salary setting is applied.

Nykvarn Municipality is a Finnish administrative area, and we consider it meritorious if you speak Finnish.

We want you to present an extract from the criminal record and suspicion register before employment.
