Teacher in Wood and Metalwork for Grades 4–9
Do you want to work in an international environment with a clear pedagogical policy? We are looking for a qualified teacher in Wood and Metalwork for grades 4–9 for the upcoming school year. We are a school covering grades 4–9, and we expect all our teachers to be comfortable teaching these age groups.
About You
As a person, you are flexible, a dedicated team player with a positive attitude towards your subject. You are creative and willing to go the extra mile for your students and colleagues. You possess the tools to create a good learning environment in the classroom, where your clear leadership and teaching style are key to your students' success.
You can adapt your teaching to reach different students and collaborate with our student health team and special education teachers to work inclusively with students who have special needs. For us, continuous and clear feedback to students and guardians is a must, and you see it as a natural part of your teaching. In this feedback, you provide information on both progress and areas for development and improvement.
We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with qualifications in Wood and Metalwork and who wish to teach students in an international work environment. It is an advantage if you are a certified teacher up to grade 9. You meet your students' needs and, as a mentor for 16 students, you strive for every student to reach their full potential, regardless of their background. You have a positive view of people, are a team player, and have the ability to build good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians.
The language of instruction in Wood and Metalwork is Swedish, but good knowledge of English is a prerequisite as many in the staff are English-speaking.
About the Job
The job description includes, in addition to common teacher tasks such as planning, teaching, grading, and follow-up, also mentoring for students in one of the classes you teach. You need to be available for meetings with guardians, students, and colleagues, and actively work to uphold IES's values and vision.
At our school, the focus is on learning and a calm environment where school routines and rules are followed by both students and staff. A pleasant atmosphere and a good collaborative climate are key words behind our success. This is also the foundation for creating a red thread that guides and supports our students through their schooling and helps them reach their goals. Wood and Metalwork is taught in half-classes in a fully equipped workshop.
