At the Swedish Medical Products Agency (Läkemedelsverket), we make a difference together. In life and for life. We work for the health of humans and animals, for a better Sweden today and in the future.
Are you experienced in cybersecurity with a genuine interest in supervisory work? Join us in making a difference!
Our Operations
The business area for medical technology currently consists of nearly 80 employees and covers the Agency's responsibility to conduct supervision, support access to medical technology products, provide guidance through knowledge, and develop regulations.
In light of the NIS2 Directive and the Cybersecurity Act, where the Swedish Medical Products Agency is designated as the supervisory authority for the healthcare sector and the manufacturing of medical technology products, we are looking for a Cybersecurity Inspector for the Unit for Control of Actors and Notified Bodies within the Medical Technology business area.
Your Responsibilities
You will be part of a team to establish, develop, and conduct supervision in accordance with the Cybersecurity Act – primarily within the field of medical technology, but also within the pharmaceutical sector. Answering incoming queries and collaborating with other authorities are also important parts of the job. You will perform cybersecurity supervision of manufacturers, among other things, by requesting and reviewing documentation regarding various actors' IT environments, process environments, cyber-physical systems, and management systems. The role also includes on-site inspections at manufacturers and other actors, which involves some travel. The work places high demands on the ability to make well-founded risk assessments and to formulate conclusions from a regulatory perspective.
Your Background
We are looking for someone who has:
- Several years of experience in information and IT security work, and thrives in planning and conducting structured reviews, where you collect, document, and evaluate materials in a methodical manner. You can make independent, well-founded, and proportional assessments based on both requirements and the risk landscape.
- Technical understanding of cybersecurity, network architectures, identity and access management, cryptography, and communication.
- Experience in conducting risk analyses and assessing cybersecurity measures.
- Communication skills: You can explain complex cybersecurity issues to both technical and non-technical audiences, and you express yourself fluently in speech and writing in both Swedish and English.
It is meritorious if you have:
- Experience in independently conducting audits or reviews according to established frameworks, such as the ISO/IEC 27000 series, CIS, SOC2, PCI DSS, DORA, IEC-62443, the Security Protection Act, or NIST CSF.
- Worked with supervision, auditing, or other controlling activities within the public or private sector, or have operational experience in implementing and managing security measures in complex technical environments.
- Experience in incident handling, continuity planning, and recovery capabilities, as well as experience with implementation according to ISO 27001, NIST CSF, or PCI DSS.
- Knowledge of the Cybersecurity Act's requirements for security measures or experience from vital societal functions or other regulated sectors.
- Certifications such as 27001 Lead Auditor, QSA, CISA, or similar.
- Knowledge of medical technology regulations.
Your Personal Attributes
You have high integrity and good analytical skills. The work requires good communication and collaboration skills, as well as a structured approach from planning and execution to reporting on inspections. You need to be able to review and evaluate data from various systems, prioritize, and make independent decisions, even under time pressure. You have a curious attitude and are open to taking in new information. You are clear in your communication, both internally and externally, and value good treatment.
We place great emphasis on personal attributes.
