Would you feel proud to play a crucial role in strengthening Sweden's defense? Do you want to collaborate with competent and engaged colleagues to ensure the Swedish Armed Forces' operation and development of command and IT systems? Then the position of Materiel System Leader (MSL) with us might be for you. We welcome your application!

FMTIS Technology and Maintenance Office Command Systems (TVK Ledsyst) in Enköping consists of approximately 190 employees across seven departments. The unit's main task is the development and management of the Swedish Armed Forces' command and information systems throughout their entire lifecycle, during war, crisis, and peace.

Main Responsibilities

The Materiel System Leader (MSL) on the section for secure solutions involves work with maintenance, design, and new development of IT and information security products, command systems for higher classification levels, command training, IT4IT, as well as development and testing. The MSL exercises technical design responsibility, directly delegated by the Technical Director at Headquarters, for the assigned products. The design responsibility entails ensuring that the established design for permitted configurations of technical systems, including maintenance solutions, meets legal requirements, established objectives, and other requirements regarding performance, function, information, and system security throughout the lifecycle.

As an MSL, you must ensure that changes in products within your area of responsibility do not negatively affect system or information security, and you should strive for a rational coordination of measures concerning the product. The role also involves supporting the Technical Director Command in preparations and the production of background material for decisions within system and design management.

As an MSL, you will:

  • Develop design-directing documents, such as design rules established by the Technical Director
  • Conduct system lifecycle planning, including the creation and management of System Lifecycle Plans
  • Review design-affecting production decisions and documentation, and recommend measures as needed to ensure, for example, maintained system security, usability, and technical interoperability
  • Conduct Configuration Management on component products
  • Manage service orders to FMV (Swedish Defence Materiel Administration) and industry

The work is carried out in close collaboration with other roles such as materiel area manager, technical product representatives, service managers, IT architects, technical system leaders, and, where applicable, product managers at the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration.
