IT Centre seeks a Network Engineer to support five municipalities

IT Centre is responsible for IT operations in the municipalities of Heby, Knivsta, Tierp, Älvkarleby, and Östhammar. Your workplace will be in Tierp, and you will work with the IT infrastructure for all municipalities.

Our municipality offers varied living environments, nature near the sea, history, culture, and good service. Tierp is within commuting distance of Stockholm, Uppsala, and Gävle.

We offer a flexible work approach where you combine on-site work in Tierp with remote work. Approximately half of your time will be spent in the office, and the rest can be worked remotely in consultation with the team.

The IT Infrastructure unit is guided by responsibility, service spirit, and development. Here, you will have the opportunity for exciting and independent work in an open work climate.

Job Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize network solutions across IT Centre's five municipalities.
• Operations, monitoring, and troubleshooting of network environments.
• Work with firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless networks.
• Handle incidents, problems, and changes within the network area.
• Ensure a stable, secure, and scalable network infrastructure.
• Work with network security, segmentation, and structured working methods.
• Contribute to continuous improvements, standardization, and documentation.
• Collaborate with others within IT Centre and act as a technical expert in networking.

Qualifications

Required

• Several years of experience in network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with routing, switching, firewalls, wireless networks, and WAN.
• Good understanding of IT security in network environments.
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Preferred

• Relevant education.
• Relevant networking certifications.
• Experience with OT networks.
• Experience with Cisco, Aruba, HPE, Fortinet, and Cisco ACI.
• Experience with IT operations in the public sector.
