The Management Office of Region Uppsala is part of Region Uppsala, one of the largest employers in Uppsala County. The Management Office is led by the Regional Director and consists of approximately one thousand employees. With a governing, supporting, and coordinating role, the Management Office is tasked with supporting the political leadership and administrations so that the political direction is implemented across the region's various operations. Do you want to develop and contribute to the growth of Region Uppsala? We welcome you to work with us!
Our Operations
Region Uppsala is responsible for healthcare, public transport, regional development, and culture in Uppsala County. With over 12,000 employees, we are one of the county's largest employers and a key actor in societal development. We are also home to Uppsala University Hospital and collaborate closely with Uppsala University and other research environments.
The IT Department is part of the Management Office and works on developing and maintaining a stable, secure, and future-oriented digital infrastructure. Here, you will have the opportunity to help shape solutions that support healthcare, research, and innovation in one of Sweden's most knowledge-intensive regions.
Your Role
You will use your knowledge of storage technologies for both structured and unstructured data in a large and complex environment for Region Uppsala's storage management. Your work will primarily focus on managing our platforms for structured data within a group of colleagues who handle the rest of the server infrastructure. You will handle incoming cases and orders, monitor the external environment, and create a roadmap for future storage needs. The role involves many internal contacts and interactions with suppliers, where you develop and find the best solutions for storage and the needs of the operations. Documenting and prioritizing are part of the daily work, along with the operation and management of the service. The role also involves ensuring Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP), capacity planning, and other documentation based on established management processes.
You will become part of the Data Center group, an engaged team where you and your colleagues have different specialties but work closely together on daily operations, projects, and innovation. The work is done in close collaboration with business representatives and other IT specialists. Your work with storage is a cornerstone of Region Uppsala's IT infrastructure. With a focus on stability, capacity, and future needs, you will develop your area of responsibility and ensure solutions that support both healthcare and vital societal functions.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for you who have an interest in deepening your knowledge in storage and growing into a specialist role. You have several years of experience in technical IT work and therefore have an understanding of server infrastructure and storage, even if you have not previously worked specifically in the storage area. You will work and specialize in a large-scale storage environment using IBM Storage Scale System based on Storage Virtualize, such as Flash systems and SAN Volume Controller, as well as Storage Networking C-type (Cisco MDS) directors.
If you already have experience with storage products and environments, we consider this a strong merit. You see the big picture and preferably bring experience with automation and management. Furthermore, you have good communication skills, work independently and systematically, and thrive in an environment where technology and collaboration are in focus.
What We Offer
With us, you will have the opportunity to work with modern technology in a socially vital organization. You will become part of a competent and engaged team where innovation and collaboration are central. We offer competence development, internal networks, and a work climate where you have the opportunity to grow. Region Uppsala offers secure employment with collective agreements, benefits, and flexible working methods. With us, you get benefits that make a difference; read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/formaner/ (https://regionuppsala.se/formaner/)).
