We are looking for an experienced BI developer with good knowledge of Power BI. This role is suitable for you if you enjoy moving between operations and technology and want to help develop smart, data-driven working methods across various business areas.

You will become part of the group-wide analysis unit within the Quality and Planning Department, where we work with recurring analyses such as population forecasts and environmental scans, as well as targeted assignments from the organization.

Within the unit, there is a data governance team consisting of three information architects and a team leader, where you will be included. The task is to develop data governance and information architecture, as well as to support operations in their data work – both strategically and operationally.

Description of duties

Uppsala Municipality is preparing to procure a group-wide decision support system that should contribute to a more automated working method within steering, management, and follow-up – while simultaneously creating better conditions for data-driven development.

We are now looking for an experienced BI developer with good knowledge of Power BI for an exciting assignment. The role suits you if you thrive in the borderland between operations and technology. In the role, you will have a central function in the work to modernize the municipal group's reporting and follow-up support. You will help replace existing solutions with modern BI reports, in close collaboration with both operations and IT specialists.

You build datasets, models, and reports in data warehouses and ensure that data is presented in a value-creating way. The role requires that you understand the needs of the operations, analyze data sources, and act as a link between operations and IT.

Your duties:

• Develop and implement BI reports and dashboards.
• Replace existing reporting support with modern BI solutions.
• Create and maintain data models and datasets.
• Gather and translate operational needs into data solutions.
• Integrate and process data from several different data sources.
• Collaborate with operational representatives and IT functions.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a university education in fields such as systems science, computer science, economics, or Business Intelligence. You have at least three years of documented experience in developing and implementing Power BI solutions, preferably within municipal or regional operations.

You have very good knowledge of data modeling in Power BI, Power Query, and DAX, including optimization and performance. You are accustomed to integrating and processing data from several sources (e.g., SQL Server, Excel, and external systems) and have a good understanding of system integration and information flows between operational systems. You also have knowledge of data warehouses and modern BI platforms, preferably Microsoft Fabric.

You have experience with data from operational systems (e.g., HR or finance) and good knowledge of GDPR and data management. You document solutions well and express yourself fluently in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

Meritorious: experience with Heroma, Lifecare, migration from older operational systems to BI, as well as other BI tools, e.g., Qlik Sense.

You have clearly anchored values and a good ability to reason about issues on an ethical and conceptual level. In your work, you take responsibility for your tasks and work independently by structuring your work approach and driving your processes forward. Furthermore, you enjoy working with complex issues, have analytical skills, and can break down problems into smaller parts to find solutions even to more advanced challenges.

You collaborate well with others and meet people in a listening and flexible manner. You have a good understanding of how people absorb knowledge and that different individuals have different prerequisites. Therefore, you adapt your way of communicating to the recipient.
