Our Operations

IT at the Swedish Medical Products Agency (Läkemedelsverket) consists of the Digitalization Unit (DIG) and the Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, and User Support Unit (CIA). DIG currently has approximately 90 dedicated employees who, together with CIA, take a holistic approach to the agency's digitalization.

We work closely with the business operations and deliver accessible, stable, and secure IT support that creates tangible value. We have a relatively large portion of in-house development, and our teams continuously develop both working methods, technology, and tools with a focus on quality, collaboration, and learning.

Your Responsibilities

As a Business Architect with a focus on Informatics, you are responsible for mapping, structuring, and ensuring the quality of the Swedish Medical Products Agency's information, with a focus on the business area of Medical Technology. You work together with subject matter experts and other architect roles to establish correct terms and concepts, as well as to build appropriate structures for the documentation and governance of information models, code sets, and concept models.

You drive and develop work related to:

  • definition and management of concepts, terminology, and information models
  • structuring and quality assurance of information domains
  • traceability, information ownership, and governance of information resources
  • establishment of processes and decision forums for terminology and concepts
  • change and harmonization of existing information structures
  • ensuring that information architecture work is linked to business goals and expected outcomes

The work is carried out in close collaboration with subject matter experts, solution architects, business architects, and development teams. You ensure that information models and concepts are implemented correctly in our services and systems, and that the terminology work meets internal guidelines and external regulations.

The role involves both strategic, tactical, and operational work, where you are a key person in creating a long-term sustainable information architecture. The Swedish Medical Products Agency is governed by Swedish and European legislation, and our IT systems are often integrated with both national and international IT systems, involving exchange with European contacts and networks.

Your Background

We are looking for you who have:

  • relevant higher education in informatics, information architecture, or systems science, or equivalent as assessed by the employer
  • several years of experience working as an informatician, information architect, or business architect with a focus on informatics, or a corresponding role in an organization with extensive and complex information structures
  • extensive experience in defining, documenting, and managing conceptual and logical information models
  • experience in establishing common concepts and terminology, as well as driving terminological change work
  • experience in ensuring interoperability and high information quality in systems and services
  • good understanding of how information models are translated into technical solutions
  • excellent proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written

It is meritorious if you have:

  • experience from healthcare and/or life sciences
  • experience working with standards such as HL7, FHIR, or other domain-specific information standards
  • experience with modeling languages and methods such as UML, ER diagrams, or similar
  • knowledge of information security, data protection (GDPR), storage, and retention/deletion
  • understanding of API design (e.g., REST/JSON) from an information architecture perspective
  • experience with master data management (MDM)

Your Personal Attributes

To succeed and thrive in the role, we see that you are structured and analytical with a good ability to see the big picture and connections. You have high pedagogical skills and can explain complex information structures in an understandable way. You are proactive and enjoy taking initiative and leading change work. You have good collaboration skills and are trust-building to anchor changes through dialogue with both business operations and IT. You are curious about your field and monitor developments within information management, standards, and regulations.

We place great importance on personal attributes.
