Region Uppsala is responsible for healthcare, public transport, regional development, and culture in Uppsala County. The IT Department is part of the Management Office and works on developing and maintaining a stable, secure, and future-oriented digital infrastructure. About the Job

Do you want to work with IT that actually makes a difference in everyday life? At Region Uppsala, IT is a crucial part of ensuring that healthcare and research function and develop.

We are now looking for a System Engineer for our group System Operations EPJ. In this role, you will become a key contact person for the Medbild area, where you will work closely with both operations and technology.

What does the role entail?

You will work broadly with the operation, administration, and development of several system environments – but primarily with ensuring that the whole system functions smoothly in everyday life.

This involves:

• Ensuring systems run stably and securely
• Maintaining oversight of documentation and structure
• Supporting changes, upgrades, and incidents
• Providing technical support to colleagues and operations
• Participating in meetings and planning together with Medbild

You will become part of a team with several system engineers – so you will not work alone, but together with colleagues where you share responsibility and help each other in daily tasks.

The role is also broader than just Medbild, and you will spend some time working on tasks related to the medical record system and other parts within the EPJ area.

You will also be involved in the introduction of new solutions in the coming years, which means the role will develop over time. It is a mix of practical technical work, collaboration, and forward-thinking – how we can do things better and more sustainably.

Who are we looking for?

• Have experience with system operations or similar roles
• Thrive in a role where you take responsibility and keep things organized
• Enjoy order and structure (e.g., documentation and organization)
• Can switch between solving immediate problems and thinking long-term

Experience from healthcare IT or similar environments is a plus – but not a requirement. Swedish is a requirement for the position, and you must be able to express yourself well in English, both verbally and in writing.
