About the Logging Section in the IT Security Department
The section is part of the Swedish Armed Forces' organization for IT system management and consists of both employees and consultants within several areas of competence. The section's task is to develop, manage, and operate functional, secure, and robust IT systems to support the Swedish Armed Forces' operational capability in the field of IT security.
Main Responsibilities
We are looking for a driven System Developer with a strong passion for Linux and automation. You will be part of a business-close group that works closely with end-users to ensure that we deliver maximum value.
- Modernization and Automation: Lead the modernization, automation, and development of efficient solutions for existing systems.
- Security Focus: Actively participate in the development and management of our own SIEM solutions and other critical security systems.
- Operations and Management: Installation, configuration, troubleshooting, optimization, and system monitoring of critical infrastructure.
- System Development: Develop simpler systems and scripts in languages such as Python to streamline processes.
- Future-proofing: Participate in, or lead, the development of new infrastructure based on future requirements.
- Documentation: Ensure accurate and clear documentation of your work.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
We are looking for you with a solid technical background who can handle a complex Linux environment.
- University education in IT/data or equivalent work experience
- Several years of experience in installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Unix/Linux systems
- Very good ability to install, configure, and manage RHEL-based systems
- Good knowledge of Shell scripting (e.g., Bash)
- Good knowledge of developing simpler systems/tools in a scripting language such as Python
- Experience with configuration management systems (e.g., Ansible, Puppet)

QUALIFICATIONS
If you have experience in any of the following, we see it as a big plus:
- Experience with SIEM solutions and IT security work
- Good knowledge of system monitoring
- Experience working with Git and Jenkins (or similar CI/CD tools)
- Good knowledge of virtualization technology (e.g., VMware, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience in problem-solving and log analysis in complex environments
- Knowledge and experience with Elasticsearch and/or Hadoop
- Experience working in a project format.
