Workplace Description
The Service Department is one of the Swedish Police Authority's national departments, consisting of three units with a total of just over 720 employees. The department is part of the law enforcement mission and works with citizen services in the form of, among other things, e-services and reception operations, develops travel documents and service cards, provides public records and register extracts. The authority's administrative cases and the national telephone exchange are also included, as is the responsibility for the authority's information management.
The position of Secrecy Case Officer is located at the Archive Section. The section consists of six groups that together are responsible for caring for and managing the authority's archives and handling requests for public records received by the Swedish Police Authority. The section's groups are geographically located across large parts of the country, from Luleå in the north to Malmö in the south.
Job Description
The Swedish Police Authority handles a large number of requests for public records annually. The main task involves preparation and secrecy review to determine if requested documents can be released. You will work with a relatively complex set of regulations with associated speed requirements. This requires flexibility, where you are expected to work together with other employees within the unit during periods of high workload. Additional tasks within the scope of the unit's mission may also occur in this function.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- A law degree or other equivalent education
- Very good legal analytical skills
- Good knowledge of legislation regarding public access and secrecy as well as other central legislation for public administration
- Very good ability to express yourself orally and in writing in Swedish and English
It is meritorious if you have:
- Legal experience within public administration
- Recent experience in case processing within public administration
- Recent experience in processing cases regarding public access and secrecy
- Experience working within the police or the justice system in general, considered relevant for the function
