About the role
We are currently looking for a driven accountant who wants to work in an academically inspiring environment where, together with colleagues, you will provide support to the researchers at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH). You will be responsible for the financial administration of projects, from budgeting during the application phase to project reporting. The role is broad and varied, offering you the chance to combine your financial expertise with meaningful projects within research and education.
You will work together with an engaged team of 16 accountants who, together with other support functions, are located close to the core operations and distributed across the school's 4 departments.
Key responsibilities:
- Advising and supporting budgeting for funding applications.
- Ongoing accounting and financial monitoring of projects.
- Reporting to funders in accordance with agreements.
- Conducting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to set schedules and guidelines.
Assignment period and scope
The position of accountant is a full-time consultancy assignment starting on 2026-08-10 and expected to continue until 2027-02-09. The work is performed on-site in premises centrally located in Stockholm. There is some possibility of remote work after an initial training period.
Requirements for the position:
- University education in economics or equivalent, and at least three (3) years of work experience from similar work. Alternatively, upper secondary education or equivalent in the relevant field, plus five (5) years of work experience as an accountant.
- Good knowledge of MS Office or equivalent.
- Good knowledge of common accounting systems (e.g., Unit 4 ERP, Raindance, Visma, etc.).
- Experience with public sector accounting.
- Fluent communication skills in Swedish and English, both verbal and written.

Qualifications that would be considered an advantage:
- Experience in financial work related to research-funded projects at a government agency, university, or other research environment.
- Experience working in the accounting system Unit4 (Agresso).
- An academic degree in economics or other education/experience that the employer deems relevant.

To succeed in this role, you need to be analytical, meticulous, structured, and self-driven, with the ability to handle multiple projects in parallel. You are communicative and find it easy to collaborate with different professional groups.
