Are you a lawyer with an interest in society and technology, and a passion for legislative work? There is now an opportunity to work on legislation regarding digitalization and AI (Artificial Intelligence) at the Unit for Digitalization of the Public Administration (DOF) within the Ministry of Finance.
Your working day. Sweden's tomorrow.
The Ministry of Finance's Division for Public Administration (OFA) is responsible for public procurement, state real estate management, state employer and administrative policy, consumer issues, gaming issues, and digitalization policy. The division's Unit for Digitalization of the Public Administration (DOF), together with the Unit for Digital Infrastructure and Security (DIS), is responsible for issues concerning the digitalization of society. This involves policy development and regulations for the digital transition, new digital technologies such as AI, as well as master data, open data, data sharing, and data-driven innovation.
The unit prepares decision-making materials for political leadership and is responsible for negotiation and legislative work, as well as handling EU and international issues. The unit is also responsible for the Swedish Authority for Digital Government (Digg).
Legislation in the field of digitalization and AI is developing rapidly, and we offer exciting work at the intersection of new technology and legislation. If you are curious and interested in a policy area that drives societal development, this assignment is an excellent opportunity for stimulation and professional growth.
As a legal expert on the unit, you will participate in legislative work regarding various products and ongoing legal issues arising in daily work. You will play a central role in drafting remissions to the Legislative Council, government bills, and writing ordinances, memoranda, and committee mandates. The work also includes reviewing, quality assuring, and preparing proposals for decisions in government cases. Participation in the unit's other work, such as assignments to authorities, preparing materials for political leadership, and joint consultations, may also occur.
We work closely with the other units in the Division for Public Administration, and you are expected to contribute to our collaborations.
Your background
We are looking for you who are an assessor from the Administrative Court or the Court of Appeal, preferably with experience in legislative work from the public sector. You have a genuine interest in societal issues in general and are curious and interested in the exciting developments within digitalization and AI. You also have an understanding of working in a politically directed organization.
Your qualities
The Ministry of Finance's employee criteria are wholeness, development, and results. Everyone working at the Ministry of Finance needs to have a holistic view and collaborate for the benefit of the operations. You are expected to contribute your perspective and competence and be open to others. You will bring ideas and new approaches to improve and develop the operations and your own competence. You are results-oriented in your actions and adapt when needs and directions change.
You have very good analytical skills, are structured, and quality-conscious. You also have very good teamwork skills and experience working in teams, seeing the big picture, and being able to weigh in perspectives from different competencies available on the unit and division. You drive processes forward in a non-hierarchical manner and can adapt to new conditions. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Other
We offer a position, which is either an appointment as a legal expert for up to six years if you are an assessor and on leave from the court, or a permanent position as a department secretary if you are not. Start date as soon as possible according to agreement.
