Responsibilities

As a Biomedical Scientist with us, you will work in an accredited facility performing analyses within clinical chemistry, coagulation, and hematology. You will oversee the entire laboratory process, from sample collection and receipt to analysis, quality control, assessment, and reporting of results. You are responsible for ensuring that work is carried out according to current routines, quality requirements, and patient safety standards, while actively contributing to the development and improvement of our operations.

The role also includes instrument management, troubleshooting, and maintenance. The job involves a significant amount of patient-facing work and sample collection, meaning you will have direct contact with patients and contribute to a welcoming attitude and a secure healthcare experience.

At our laboratories in Fagersta and Sala, we work in small teams, which provides opportunities for varied tasks and close collaboration between different professional roles.

About the Workplace

Laboratory Medicine encompasses the specialties of clinical chemistry, clinical microbiology, clinical pathology, and transfusion medicine. We have approximately 200 employees located at the county's four hospitals.

Among our staff are Biomedical Scientists, doctors, nurses, healthcare assistants, cytodiagnosticians, molecular biologists, chemists, and laboratory engineers. Together, we contribute to good and safe care through sample collection, analyses, and other laboratory medicine services.

Laboratory Medicine is accredited according to ISO 15189.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed Biomedical Scientist and have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. Since the position involves working in both Fagersta and Sala, a B-class driver's license is required.

Previous experience as a Biomedical Scientist, particularly within hospital or regional laboratory operations, is meritorious. Experience with the medical record system Cosmic is also considered an advantage.

Employment Terms

Permanent position, full-time.

Start date according to agreement.

The position involves working in both Fagersta and Sala according to a planned rotation schedule. The introduction will initially take place with placement in Fagersta.

Interviews are planned to take place in Sala during week 32.
