to apply for the job
Our work is varied, exciting, and educational, characterized by a strong sense of community and job satisfaction. We have a strong focus on development and view continuous improvement as a natural part of our daily routine to offer patients high-quality specialist care.
In this role, you will have stimulating work, and in the long term, you may be sponsored to pursue specialist education in Emergency Medicine.
Job Responsibilities
As a nurse with us, you will work with a unique patient diversity – ranging from newborns to patients at the end of life. Working within our organization will contribute to your personal development, as you encounter many different types of situations where you utilize both your medical knowledge and life experience. You will work in a team together with doctors and assistant nurses regarding the assessment, prioritization, and care of severely ill patients.
Your Introduction
You will receive training at one clinic at a time, and once you are confident at one clinic, you will move on to the next. When you start, you will begin at one of our clinics: surgery, medicine, or orthopedics, and stay there for approximately 2–4 months. Once you are familiar with all three clinics, you will be trained to receive patients at 36B (infection entrance) and work in triage with initial assessments. After that, you will move on to emergency call duties. Prior to the emergency call placement, there is both emergency training and TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) to help prepare you for the task. We also have a position we call "Front Nurse," who sits in the reception and performs an initial assessment of where the patient should seek care. Here, you can triage patients to different emergency clinics or refer them to primary care or other departments.
About the Workplace
Working at the Emergency Department means broad competence development as you encounter patients from many different specialties. Last year, we received approximately 58,000 patients for doctor visits, of which 2,500 were admitted via emergency call. Our largest patient groups are within medicine/infection, surgery, and orthopedics. During on-call hours, we also have patients from smaller clinics such as ophthalmology, ENT, gynecology, and oral surgery. Our trauma unit is one of the largest in the country and receives trauma cases around the clock. We also have emergency teams for surgical, medical, orthopedic, infectious disease, and pediatric patients.
For us, it is important that you feel well and enjoy your job, which is why we offer you:
- A tailored introduction program to help you feel confident and secure in your professional role
- Opportunities for competence development through, for example, internal training
- A workplace for all stages of life, with the possibility of flexible working hours within certain frameworks
- Free training at our fully equipped gym
- Health allowance of 3,000 SEK/year
