Here, you will become an important part of an interdisciplinary team where we work together to create a health-promoting and preventive student health service. You will have a central role in contributing your psychological expertise to support the schools in their work to promote students' well-being and learning. The position is a temporary assignment during the academic year 2026/2027.

Your Responsibilities

As a school psychologist in the City of Västerås, you belong to the Central Student Health Service, where we work interdisciplinary together with, among others, special education teachers and speech therapists. You have an important role in supporting our municipal comprehensive schools and adapted comprehensive schools based on their needs.

You work on behalf of the principals and are part of the schools' student health teams. By supervising and guiding principals, work teams, and educators, you contribute to preventive and health-promoting student health work at the individual, group, and organizational levels.

The work also involves analyzing learning environments, conducting assessments, and carrying out cognitive evaluations. You also participate in supervising special teaching groups and are an active part of the Central Student Health Service's joint development work.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed psychologist and have experience with psychological assessments. Experience in supervision or work in a school environment is meritorious.

You are confident in your role, self-reliant, and have an easy time collaborating in teams. The role offers great freedom under responsibility, and you thrive with planning your own work, handling several parallel processes, and being at different schools, where you build relationships and switch between individual cases and broader perspectives.

You are flexible and motivated by working in a dynamic environment with many different assignments and levels. While you take initiative and make decisions, you appreciate the strength of a collegial context and actively contribute to good collaboration.

Additional Information

Before you can be employed, you need to show a clean extract from the police's criminal record register.

In connection with the interview, you need to prove your citizenship. You can do this with a passport or alternatively a certificate of residence together with an ID document. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must show that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the obligation to have a work permit. Employment can only take place after verification of the work permit, which is required according to the Aliens Ordinance.
