One of our physiotherapists is going on parental leave soon, so we are now looking for you who want to take over the role during this time.
Are you a trained physiotherapist and want to create good conditions for people with disabilities? With us, you will have the opportunity to provide interventions for children, young people, and adults with the aim of facilitating their daily lives and promoting good living conditions. The work is flexible and varied while you build long-term relationships.
Does this sound interesting? Then maybe it's you we are looking for!
Job Responsibilities
In the role of physiotherapist at the Habilitation Centre in Köping, you will be one of five physiotherapists in our two teams. You will also collaborate closely with other professions within the teams, which consist of occupational therapists, speech therapists, counselors, special educators, psychologists, and dietitians. Interventions are given both individually and in groups, where we see the combined professional competence around the patient as the strength for the best possible treatment.
The work in our teams involves providing interventions for our patients with the goal of facilitating their living conditions. As a physiotherapist, you help the patient by adapting daily situations based on their various disabilities and individual needs.
You propose strategies that prevent, improve, and compensate for reduced motor ability/development, movement conditions, prevent complications, and compensate for functional deficits. The job responsibilities include medical record keeping and prescribing assistive devices.
This is a position for you who are looking for independent and varied work where you get to develop through a patient-centered approach and with the interdisciplinary working method as a base. The work also includes supervising and supporting the network around the patient.
The work also involves collaboration with neighboring healthcare providers and various authorities, for example, pediatric clinics, primary healthcare centers, psychiatry, and municipal operations.
About the Workplace
The Habilitation Centre is a specialist operation within Region Västmanland and has the task of giving people with disabilities the conditions to live a good life. The goal of our work is to facilitate daily life and create conditions for participation in society. The interventions we provide complement the support given by other societal institutions.
With us in Köping, you work with patients across all diagnoses and thus gain broad knowledge and experience. We work during daytime with planned activities, and we meet our patients both at the clinic and out in their daily environments such as preschool/school, home, and/or work.
We work in functional and pleasant premises which are well adapted to the operations we have, and we have the forest right around the corner. Perfect for a joint lunch walk. On the unit, we are about 25 employees, and we have 2 unit managers who share leadership, which means they are often available to us in our daily lives.
- We have a good introduction program so that you become secure in your role with us, which means access to a clinical supervisor and a team mentor.
- We also have regular professional meetings for collegial collaboration and development, as well as the opportunity to observe colleagues in other teams in the county.
Köping is located on the western shore of Lake Mälaren with commuting distance from other cities in the Mälardalen region and Örebro. The Habilitation Centre is located at Köping Hospital, a three-minute walk from the railway station.
You are welcome to a developing workplace with engaged employees who have patient work in focus and who actively work for a safe working environment and positive team collaboration.

If you also have work experience in habilitation work and/or work with people with disabilities, we see it as meritorious. We see it as a plus if you have experience in being responsible for and leading group activities as well as working consultatively. Furthermore, you have good knowledge of the Swedish language.
You are secure, stable, and flexible. You adapt easily to new circumstances. You take responsibility for your tasks and structure your work in an efficient way, while also working well in teams with other people where you contribute in a constructive way. You often take own initiatives for activities and achieve results, while also being good at prioritizing in your areas of responsibility. You are clear in your communication and engaged in the individual meeting as well as in the large group.
The work is flexible, and in addition to visits at the clinic, some work takes place in the person's immediate environment, which may involve home visits or visits to school. Therefore, we see that you have a B driver's license.
