Development Leader for Arena Skog – Take Forestry into the Next Phase
Gröna Klustret Nuntorp ekonomisk föreningVästra Götalands län, Vänersborg
Previous experience is desired
The forest is teeming with opportunities. Are you the one who sees them?
Become part of Gröna Klustret and develop Arena Skog in Västra Götaland together with forest owners, research, and industry.
The importance of the forest for the economy, climate, biodiversity, and rural development has never been greater. Arena Skog is the neutral meeting place where forest owners, research, industry, and the public sector jointly develop new ideas, strengthen innovation, and create new opportunities – always with the forest owner at the center.
Gröna Klustret is now looking for a development leader who wants to take Arena Skog into the next phase.
You will become part of Gröna Klustret's creative and learning team and play a key role in developing Arena Skog together with our collaboration partners.
Your mission is to create the prerequisites for development. You do not need to be the expert with answers to all forestry questions. You will build relationships, identify needs, create meetings between people and organizations, and turn ideas into concrete development initiatives. In this role, you will be a bridge-builder between forest owners, companies, research, and the public sector.
Initially, your assignment will be to represent Gröna Klustret operationally in Arena Skog 2.0 and in the Interreg project "Skog till Stol" (Forest to Chair). Within Arena Skog, you will work together with colleagues from Gröna Klustret Hushållningssällskapet Västra, Hushållningssällskapet Sjuhärad, and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU). In the Interreg project Skog till Stol, you will be part of a working group with Swedish and Norwegian collaboration partners.
But the assignment does not end there.
Together with the operations manager and other colleagues, you will also help develop Arena Skog's future working methods and role in the forest-based bioeconomy. The role is therefore shaped as the operations develop.
A key part of your work will be to build trust between people with different perspectives and move development processes forward.
We are looking for you who
- Have a good understanding of the Swedish forestry industry, feel at home in the forestry sector, and have good relationships there.
- Are driven by development.
- Enjoy creating engagement, building networks, and getting people to work together towards common goals. You see opportunities where others see different interests and thrive in roles where you get to create structure even when the path forward is not entirely clear.
- You have the ability to listen, identify needs, and turn them into collaborations, projects, and development initiatives.
We are looking for you who have
- post-secondary education in forestry or other education and experience that the employer deems equivalent
- good knowledge of Swedish forestry and the conditions for forest owners
- good ability to listen, identify needs, and, with a coaching approach, turn them into development ideas and collaboration
- experience in driving development work, collaboration processes, or change management
- good ability to build relationships and create trust between different actors
- very good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish
- Category B driver's license and access to a car
It is meritorious if you have
- experience working close to private forest owners or forest-owner-oriented companies
- knowledge of bioeconomy, circular economy, rural development, or other parts of the green industries
- experience with projects funded by, for example, Interreg or other EU programs
- good knowledge of English and preferably understanding of Norwegian
As a person, we believe you
- are curious and initiative-taking
- find it easy to build trust
- are structured and yet adaptable where needed
- enjoy developing both operations and working methods
- like working together with people from different organizations and perspectives.
About the position
- The position initially covers 70%, with the possibility of increasing the percentage as operations develop and new funding becomes available.
- Project employment until June 30, 2028, with the ambition that operations will continue to develop and the employment can be extended.
- Start date by agreement.
- The primary location is Nuntorp, Brålanda.
Travel is included in the position.
