Controller with a focus on Finance – Skövde Municipality

In this role, you play a key part within the Municipal Executive Board team. Our mission is to lead and support the municipality's development. We create the prerequisites for our operations to achieve their goals.

The Municipal Executive Board consists of three functions: HR, Support and Development, and Economy and Business Control. As a Controller, you belong to the Planning and Control unit, which is organized within the Economy function. On the unit, we work closely with the municipality's leadership on overall economic management. The Planning and Control unit consists of an engaged team of controllers with different areas of responsibility, who, together with the Head of Finance, contribute to the development of the municipality's economic control and analytical capabilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The role is central to ensuring efficient, sustainable, and well-balanced management of the municipal group's economy and financial risks.

As a Controller with a focus on finance, you contribute to creating stable economic conditions for the municipality's operations and investments. Through analysis, follow-up, and strategic work, you help strengthen the municipal group's financial position and enable the delivery of high-quality welfare services both today and in the long term.

The role includes, among other things, working with:

• analysis, strategy, and follow-up of the municipal group's debt, capital binding, and interest rate risk.
• management and follow-up of liquidity, bank relations, and group account structure.
• follow-up, risk assessment, and development of investment strategies.
• management of the municipal group's electricity trading portfolio. Analysis of consumption data to support budgeting, forecasting, and energy efficiency.
• continuous environmental scanning, financial analysis, and qualified reporting to management and the board.
• support in property and company transactions.
• support to the municipality's companies, foundations, and partners in financial matters.
• you may also be involved in leading investigations and analyses, as well as supporting the organization in relevant issues where needs arise.

Sustainability is an integrated part of the finance function. You work actively with:

• sustainable investments
• sustainability-linked financing
• contributing to the group's climate and environmental work from a financial perspective

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have:

• academic education in economics or equivalent
• experience in qualified financial work
• good understanding of financial markets, risk, and analysis
• experience with and interest in developing working methods and processes

Merits for the position:

• experience in debt management, derivatives, or capital markets
• experience in electricity trading or energy markets
• experience working in a large organization or group structure

Employment type: Permanent position.
