Description
The Coast Guard's Unit for Method Development Sea Surveillance is looking for a Business Developer within Weapons, Protection, and Conflict Management, located in Karlskrona, Gothenburg, Malmö, or Stockholm.
The Unit for Method Development Sea Surveillance belongs to the Authority's Department for Development and Innovation (DI) and is responsible for developing, establishing, monitoring, and managing methods for the Coast Guard's operational activities.
The unit is particularly responsible for developing capabilities within control, supervision, and crime prevention. Within these areas, conflict management, weapons, and protection are central functions that require operational experience, tactical understanding, and the ability to translate experience into governing methods and working practices.

Job Responsibilities
As a Business Developer within Weapons, Protection, and Conflict Management, you will become one of the Coast Guard's leading experts in the field. You are responsible for the authority's long-term capability development in your areas of expertise and serve as a qualified expert support and advisor to the entire authority in these subject areas.
You lead the development by creating system objectives, dimensioning steering documents, and method descriptions that lay the foundation for how the Coast Guard should develop, maintain, and use its operational capabilities. You translate operational needs, experiences, threat pictures, and legal requirements into methods and working practices that ensure a uniform, legally secure, and operationally relevant application throughout the authority.
Qualifications
As an applicant, you have relevant post-secondary education combined with current work experience in relevant subject areas or equivalent competence as assessed by the Coast Guard.
You have:
- Documented experience working with issues concerning weapons, protection, and operational tactics.
- Relevant operational and/or support function experience from, for example, the Coast Guard, the Swedish Armed Forces, the Swedish Police Authority, or other operations with similar assignments.
In addition to the above, the following are also meritorious:
- Knowledge and experience within the Swedish legal system.
- Knowledge and experience in drafting governing documents at different levels and with varying degrees of detail.
- Knowledge and experience in capability dimensioning and system objective-setting work.
- Experience in project management and procedural case handling.
- Knowledge and experience in working against antagonistic threats.
- Experience from maritime operations.
- Documented experience in central development work in larger organizations or equivalent.
You express yourself very well orally and in writing in Swedish and English. You are analytical, structured, and have the ability to translate complex issues into clear and practically usable solutions.
You work independently and drive your issues forward, while also easily building trust and collaborating with different parts of the operation. You are clear in your communication, have good judgment, and high personal integrity.
The Coast Guard is a law enforcement and crime-fighting authority with high demands on legal security and responsibility towards third parties. We therefore expect you to have a strong ethical approach and act with the best interests of the operation and legal security in focus.
Tests may be used in the selection process.
Conditions
The position is a permanent employment with an initial probationary period. Start date according to agreement.
Employment requires Swedish citizenship, a driver's license for passenger cars, a drug test, and a security clearance according to the Security Protection Act.
The Coast Guard participates in overseas missions and international efforts. The employment therefore includes an obligation to serve abroad when required for the operation.
Permanent employment also includes an obligation to be mobilized in times of war.
