About the role and responsibilities
We are currently looking for a structured case handler for the Swedish Media Authority (Mediemyndigheten) in Stockholm for a fixed-term consulting assignment. In this role, you will primarily work with the processing of applications for media support. The tasks include preparing cases, independently drafting decision documents and decision drafts, and presenting cases at internal meetings and board meetings. You will also inform about current regulations and practice, as well as maintain ongoing contact with media companies and the general public. In addition, other tasks within the department's area of responsibility may occur, such as processing cases related to radio and television operations and publishing permits.

The purpose of media support is to strengthen democracy by promoting the public's access to high-quality independent news dissemination. This purpose is to be achieved by promoting access to local and regional news dissemination throughout the country, as well as by contributing to a diversity of high-quality public news media.

Assignment period and scope
The assignment as a case handler is a full-time consulting assignment starting on 2026-08-31 and is expected to run until 2026-12-18.

Work is primarily performed at the authority's office, with the possibility of remote work on individual days after agreement with the manager. Working hours are primarily 8:00-16:30 with a 30-minute lunch break, and flexible working hours apply.

Requirements for the position:

• University education or equivalent education in the relevant field
• At least six (6) months of work experience from similar work
• Good knowledge of MS Office or equivalent
• Ability to communicate fluently in Swedish, both orally and in writing

With university education or equivalent education in the relevant field, it is desirable to have education in political science, law, or other education deemed relevant to the content of the assignment. With work experience from similar work, it is desirable to have experience from public operations or the media sector, as well as current and relevant experience in case processing or equivalent tasks.

About you
To succeed in the assignment, you work independently, take responsibility for your tasks, and have good collaboration skills. You are structured and have a well-developed ability to plan, prioritize, and handle several parallel cases. Since the role involves many contact surfaces, both with the public and media companies, it is important that you have very good communication skills and can express yourself well both orally and in writing.

Furthermore, we see that you have good analytical skills, good judgment, and an easy ability to familiarize yourself with and apply regulations and practice in a legally secure and careful manner.
