ABOUT THE ROLE

Responsibilities include pricing of insurance/underwriting, profitability analysis, analysis of new segments and business opportunities in Sweden, Finland, and the rest of Scandinavia, development of operational analysis tools and forecasting models, as well as project management. Insurance is very data-intensive, so your interest in, as well as your ability to structure, analyze, and present information in a pedagogical way, is central to succeeding in this role. You need to be (or have the potential to become) skilled at handling large amounts of data and able to draw conclusions from them. We use Excel, SQL, R, and Python for this.

The Analysis Department has overall responsibility for profitability, and the tasks rest on three pillars: underwriting, renewals, and other projects which can range from market analyses and development of new models to automation. The team currently consists of eleven people with backgrounds from KTH, LTH, Lund University, Uppsala University, Stockholm University, and the Stockholm School of Economics.

Requirements

• A civil engineering degree preferably in technical physics or technical mathematics, alternatively a master's degree containing a lot of mathematics combined with good academic results.
• Language skills:
  • Swedish: Fluent in speech and writing.
  • Finnish: Good to fluent knowledge in speech and writing.
  • English: Good to fluent knowledge in speech and writing, as it is our corporate language.

Meritorious

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to make well-founded decisions.
• Experience and competence in SQL, R, Python, Matlab, or equivalent.
• Experience and competence in Excel.
• Previous relevant experience in e.g., data science and insurance.
• Good academic results.

• Salary: Fixed salary + annual bonus based on performance

• Remote work: On-site during probation, up to 50% remote thereafter
