Värmdö is the meeting point of the archipelago, offering a unique combination of nature's quiet beauty and a more urban lifestyle. Our mission is not just one but many: schools, properties, social services, harbors, healthcare, libraries, elderly care, and many more. We work to ensure that all residents of Värmdö can live a rich and free life. We want to be the ones who make the dream of a vibrant, secure environment for home, family, and business possible.
To succeed fully, we need diverse competencies and must work together to build a common and trusting work culture, built on brave, responsible employees who understand the needs and wishes of the citizens.
Our Operations
The Employment Unit belongs to the Social and Care Department. We are a tightly knit team of 16 employees whose main task is to ensure that more Värmdö residents achieve self-sufficiency through work or studies.
With us, you will meet a non-hierarchical and supportive culture where we share our expertise and value a good working environment. We believe in close collegial support and offer you a workplace with short decision-making paths.
Your Role
As an Employment Consultant, you have overall responsibility for guiding Värmdö residents into jobs, studies, or appropriate support. Your daily work involves coordinating the individual's path through mapping, action plans, decisions, and follow-ups. Since the role requires close collaboration with colleagues, authorities, and employers, you work both independently and in close cooperation. You drive the individual's process forward and act as a strategic link between the job seeker and the labor market.
You support matching with the labor market and actively work to remove barriers to the individual's establishment. Here, you collaborate closely with relevant units regarding the new activity requirement. You are also responsible for the settlement process for newly arrived immigrants, where you coordinate contacts with relevant functions and ensure that laws and guidelines are followed.
Your Experience
We are looking for you who have a relevant academic degree – for example, as a social worker, behavioral scientist, or equivalent – combined with experience working with target groups who are far from the labor market, including people with mental health issues/NPD or language difficulties.
Other Requirements:
Good knowledge of the labor market and the Swedish Public Employment Service's interventions. Good administrative skills and experience with ongoing documentation in operational systems. Ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish. A B-driver's license is required as travel occurs in the position.
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience working with labor market policy measures and subsidized employment
- Experience with documentation in operational systems
- Training in and experience with MI (Motivational Interviewing) or Supported Employment
- An established network within the business community or experience of contacts with companies
Your Personal Qualities
In this role, it is a prerequisite that you can collaborate and contribute positively to our work climate. The work requires a genuine interest in people, that you take initiative and work solution-focused. As we work in a changing world, it is important that you enjoy adapting your working style based on the needs of Värmdö residents.
We are looking for a colleague who combines good administrative structure with a secure and empathetic ability to create trust. The role assumes that you are goal-oriented and have a good understanding of the tasks and regulations of different actors. You see possibilities even in complex situations. You have a strong conviction that people who are far from the labor market can achieve sustainable establishment in working life with the right support.
We place great emphasis on your ability to collaborate and your personal suitability.
Värmdö Municipality offers health care subsidies, SL public transport cards against net salary deduction, and holiday exchange for extra days off. We also actively work to create health-promoting workplaces with a good working environment and apply smoke-free working hours.
We strive for an even gender distribution and see diversity as a strength, therefore welcoming applicants with different backgrounds.
