We are now looking for preschool teachers for Skee Preschool and Tången Preschool in Strömstad Municipality.

We are looking for you who want to work in a preschool where teaching, care, play, and learning form a whole – and where children's curiosity, security, and participation are taken seriously every day.

With us, you become part of a principal's area with two preschools that have different characteristics, but the same clear direction: we want to create preschools where children get to grow, think, try, wonder, fail, succeed, and feel that they belong.

We often say that the preschool's mission is large – because it is. It starts in everyday life, in relationships, in teaching, in play, and in the meeting with each child.

Our Preschools

Skee Preschool – close to forest, meadows, and explorative learning environments

Skee Preschool is located in a rural setting just outside the central town of Strömstad and opened in 2019. The preschool has three teams with children aged 1–6 years and is built with the children's perspective in focus, including windows at different heights and open environments that give even the youngest children the opportunity to look out over their surroundings.

Here, the forest is close by, there are walking paths across meadows, animal enclosures with grazing sheep right next to the building, and a large yard that invites movement, play, and exploration. The preschool works actively with sustainable development, reuse, gardening, and a careful approach to the environment. With e-bikes, we can also venture into the local area, to the sea, and into Strömstad center.

Tången Preschool – close to the center, relationship-focused, and full of opportunities

Tången Preschool is located close to the center, with proximity to nature, Strömsvattnet, playgrounds, and Strömstad Gymnasium. The preschool has three teams with children aged 1–5 years and its own vision:

At Tången, we want to create an education where care, play, learning, and development are connected. The children's ideas, experiences, and influence should be noticeable in everyday life. Here, there are good opportunities to develop teaching through the local environment, movement, language, creativity, reading aloud, accessible learning environments, and joint reflection.

At Tången, we are looking for you who want to help strengthen a preschool with a warm culture, a desire for development, and great potential.

Job Responsibilities

As a preschool teacher, you have an important and leading role in the teaching. Together with your work team, you are responsible for planning, implementing, documenting, analyzing, and following up on the education based on the preschool curriculum and other governing documents.

You create safe, inspiring, and accessible learning environments indoors and outdoors that encourage play, exploration, creativity, language, movement, and interaction. You take care of children's experiences, interests, and needs and give them real influence over the education.

The assignment includes actively participating in systematic quality work. This means that you not only do, but also think about why we do what we do, what it leads to for the children, and how the teaching can be further developed.

You collaborate closely with guardians and are a clear, secure, and professional contact in everyday life. You also contribute to a work team where we talk to each other, learn from each other, and take joint responsibility for the children's entire day.

Qualifications

• Preschool Teacher Certification (Swedish)
• Licensed Preschool Teacher
• You are a communicative person who can capture others' attention.
• You are good at expressing yourself, listening, observing, and are receptive to others' communication.
• You find solutions to emerging problems and move forward efficiently even if you encounter challenges.
• You are secure in your professional role and feel safe in different contexts. You manage to convey your opinions and hold your ground in tough situations, which makes the surroundings trust you.
• You have an open and inclusive approach that makes those around you feel welcome. Your hospitality contributes to creating good meetings.
• You work efficiently in a pressured environment and manage to maintain a generally good mood and professional demeanor.
