The position is a permanent part-time role at 50 percent, starting in August. If you have subject competence in both Textile Craft and Wood and Metalwork, there is an opportunity to expand the role to a full-time (100 percent) Craft Teacher position.

Your Role

As a Wood and Metalwork Teacher, you teach students in grades 2–5. You are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating instruction in your subject according to the national curriculum. You monitor, assess, and document students' knowledge development. The role may include shared mentorship duties.

Teaching takes place in half-class groups in our well-equipped craft workshops. You introduce various techniques, teach students to sketch and plan their work, and support them through the entire process – from idea to finished product. Practical tasks are combined with theoretical elements regarding materials, techniques, sustainability, recycling, reuse, and safety. You encourage students' creativity, provide space for their own ideas and expression, and convey the significance and utility of the craft subject. Through an inclusive approach, you adapt teaching to each student's needs, interests, and prerequisites. If necessary, you implement additional adjustments to ensure everyone has the opportunity to succeed.

The role involves close collegial collaboration in both subject-specific and grade-level teams. Another craft teacher works at the school. You collaborate regarding students, planning, assessment, and systematic quality work.

Your Experience

For this position, you must have:

• Teacher certification with subject competence in Craft (Grades 1–6), specializing in Wood and Metalwork.
• Experience teaching in Wood and Metalwork.
• Strong digital competence and familiarity with digital pedagogical tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Swedish.

The following are considered meritorious:

• Subject competence in Craft (Grades 1–6), specializing in Textile Craft.
• Experience in mentorship.
• Experience working with students requiring additional adjustments and special support.
