The Department of Mathematics provides undergraduate and doctoral education as well as research in mathematics, mathematical statistics, and computational mathematics at Stockholm University. With approximately 120 employees, we are one of the larger departments at Stockholm University. Job Description
As a Study Administrator, you play a central and important role within the department, maintaining frequent contact and close collaboration with students, teachers, program directors, subject coordinators, study counselors, and other administrators. You will work in systems such as Ladok, NyA, Canvas, Inspera, and email tools.
You are expected to actively participate with colleagues in developing the department's working methods, routines, and processes, as well as contribute to internal and external meetings.
The tasks and workload peaks vary throughout the calendar year.
The main responsibilities include:
- Staffing the student office, including student contact via email, phone, and during the student office's opening hours.
- Administration of the department's courses at undergraduate and advanced levels, including publishing course information and course postings. Administration in Ladok, including registration, re-registration, and handling of examiners and reporters.
- Examination administration (e.g., handling exam divisions, exam registration, return of exams, and coordination), including administration of exams at other locations.
- Administrative handling of course evaluations.
- Inform prospective and current students about education, studies, eligibility, and course selection.
- Provide information, support, and service to teachers and other internal and external stakeholders regarding administrative systems and routines (e.g., Ladok).
Other administrative tasks may be included in the employment.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have relevant higher education or equivalent as assessed by the employer. You must have very good proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written. Previous experience in study administration within higher education is meritorious.
You are structured, enjoy conveying information, solving problems, delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines, are interested in operational development, and value professional conduct. You are a meticulous, service-oriented, and responsible person in your area of work. You have good computer skills, are a proficient user of the Office package, and adapt easily to new computer systems.
We will place great emphasis on personal qualities, such as very good teamwork skills, the ability to work independently, and taking initiative.
About the Position
The position is full-time and fixed-term for 12 months. Stockholm University applies individual salary setting. Start date as soon as possible or by agreement.
