Job Description

We continue to develop and strengthen our operations and are now expanding the Family Home Unit by appointing two Senior Child Welfare Officers. Are you an engaged and experienced social worker who wants to contribute to the safety and development of children? This could be an opportunity for you.

Here, structure and quality are combined with warmth and commitment. Our starting point is simple but crucial: every child should grow up in a safe and loving environment. Through professional and long-term work, we create the conditions for stability, development, and hope for the future for children and young people placed in foster care.

You will become part of our work group consisting of the unit manager, three senior and 17 child welfare officers, as well as our administrative support. Our workplace is centrally located, and we have close cooperation with the Family Home Unit Support team.

The role includes acting as the deputy unit manager when needed. As a Senior Child Welfare Officer, you will be offered supervision together with other senior social workers within the Department of Individual, Family, and Work. You will also receive supervision at the unit level.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading and distributing work.
  • Delegating tasks and providing advice, support, and conditions for colleagues' development.
  • Working to ensure competence and quality assurance in operations.
  • Being responsible for case reviews and case distribution.
  • Providing support and guidance in complex cases.
  • Working closely with the unit manager and other Senior Child Welfare Officers, and participating in the unit's management group.
  • As a Senior Child Welfare Officer, you generally do not handle your own cases.

We welcome your application!

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A degree in Social Work (Social Work Bachelor's or Master's).
  • A Category B driver's license for a manually geared car.
  • Experience in exercising authority within the framework of social services law for the target group of children and young people placed in foster care.

It is an advantage if you have previous experience in leadership within the target group of children and young people in foster care.

To thrive and succeed in the role, we see that you:

  • Are a secure and clear leader who can make decisions, create direction, and drive the work forward.
  • Have the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop others through trust, support, and clear goals.
  • Are proactive, courageous, and action-oriented with the ability to see opportunities and act.
  • Create good relationships through an unpretentious approach, open dialogue, and good cooperation.
  • Are receptive and flexible in your leadership and adapt your actions to the situation and needs.
  • Have the ability to delegate, create engagement, and contribute to employee development.

Interviews will take place from week 34 onwards.

A certificate of good conduct (extract from the police register) is required for this position. This will only be requested from the final candidate in the last step of the recruitment process.

Employment type: Permanent.
Duration: Permanent, start date: By agreement.
Working hours: Daytime.
