Counselor for Child and Family Health/Adolescent Clinic in Söderhamn

The Child and Family Health/Adolescent Clinic in Söderhamn is a psychosocial service aimed at expectant parents, children aged 0–17, and their parents. The clinic serves as the first point of contact for expectant parents or children whose concerns stem from the family situation or the child themselves. The service works in collaboration with the Söderhamn Adolescent Clinic to provide first-line care for children and young people with mental health issues in the age group 0–17.

We are now looking for a counselor to join our psychosocial team for Child and Family Health/Adolescent Clinic in southern Hälsingland, based in Söderhamn. Interventions are offered according to stepped care. Working as a counselor with us involves contact with children, their parents, as well as pregnant and newly delivered parents.

Job Responsibilities

Are you a counselor and want to work with early interventions at the primary care level to reduce or prevent mental health issues? Then we want you in our team.

As a counselor with us, you will have varied and meaningful tasks where you work both independently and in collaboration with neighboring care providers and other actors. The work can be both preventive and therapeutic. Your team has a mandate to work with ages 0–23. The mandate includes offering individual supportive and ego-strengthening conversations, crisis processing, and, where applicable, CBT treatment.

Collaboration with other staff categories at the clinic is a given, as is collaboration with neighboring care providers within the municipality and region. Supervision is offered.

You will work with among other things:

  • Early interventions to prevent mental health issues in children and expectant parents.
  • Needs-adapted treatments for mild to moderate mental health issues at the individual and family level.

Qualifications and Merits

We are looking for you who are flexible with a solution-focused approach. You see opportunities in changes and can change your priorities when needed. You care about and want to help others, and you are receptive in meetings with other people. You have the ability to plan and structure your work effectively, and you can independently solve problems that arise.

Requirements:

  • Educated as a social worker (socionom) or alternatively a licensed nurse with further education in psychiatry.

Merits:

  • Step 1 training in CBT.
  • Licensed health and social care counselor.
  • Experience from health and social care work.
