RESPONSIBILITIES

The Housing Investigation Unit consists of a unit manager, six authority/housing case officers, three guidance counselors, and two administrators. The unit also includes the Björkegrenska housing facility, where five supervisors and two coordinators work. The Housing Investigation Unit processes, assesses, and makes decisions regarding assistance in the form of housing. We provide support in difficult housing situations and guide individuals toward an independent life with their own housing arrangement. This is done through information, counseling, and practical support measures. The individual's own responsibility and resources are placed at the center, aiming to make the individual self-sufficient and reduce the need for help from Social Services. The guidance counselors will also work preventively and proactively.

The goal for those granted an intervention through the unit is ultimately to obtain their own rental agreement. Our guidance counselor helps and supports the client on the way there and motivates the client toward change. This includes, among other things, providing practical, cohesive support in housing and accompanying clients on visits when contacting other services. We now have plans to expand our operations with an additional guidance counselor to work with our trial apartments and according to the "Housing First" concept. We are therefore looking for a colleague to join our guidance team.

QUALIFICATIONS

Formal Competencies:

• Trained as a treatment pedagogue/social pedagogue or have another degree/education combined with experience that the employer deems suitable.
• Hold a Category B driver's license and have good driving skills, as travel is involved in the work.

Meritorious qualifications:

• If you have knowledge and long experience working with addiction/mental health issues.
• If you have training in MI (Motivational Interviewing).
• If you have basic knowledge of legislation within social services and experience in similar tasks or therapeutic work.
• If you have good knowledge of various authorities and collaboration.
• If you have experience with a coaching/supportive working approach.

To succeed in the role of guidance counselor:

As a person, you easily focus on the individual's needs, you create and maintain good relationships, and you collaborate well with people in different contexts and functions. You are stress-resistant, proactive, and able to work independently. We place great emphasis on flexibility as unforeseen events occur, and you must be able to prioritize and adapt your workday. You have good ability for reflection and analysis and can express yourself well both verbally and in writing, as the work requires some documentation.

We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.

A certificate of good conduct (extract from the police register) is required for this position. This will only be requested from the final candidate in the last step of the recruitment process.
