The Children and Young People – Reception and Investigation Unit is responsible for handling cases concerning children and young people aged 0–21.
We have a team of 17 dedicated social workers, two team leaders, two administrators, and a unit manager. Together, we are a competent, experienced, and helpful work group that values collaboration, security, and job satisfaction.
We are currently recruiting new employees to our unit as we are expanding our operations by adding another social worker, while some of our colleagues have moved on to new challenges. Therefore, we are looking for you who want to become part of our team and contribute with your commitment and competence.
We are currently recruiting staff for both the reception group and the investigation group.
At our workplace, we actively develop our working methods to provide children and families with professional treatment and legally secure case handling. "Signs of Safety" is a central approach in our work, where we collaborate closely with children, parents, and their networks. We place great emphasis on trust, respect, and ensuring that the child feels involved and understands what is happening.
At the same time, we adapt our operations to the new Social Services Act, which strengthens the child's perspective and provides increased opportunities for preventive and more accessible interventions. We look forward to continuing to develop our work and taking advantage of the opportunities this entails.
What We Offer
We value work-life balance. Therefore, we offer:
- Reduced working hours, a full-time week of 35 hours
- External supervision and method guidance
- Annualized working hours and holiday exchange
- Wellness allowance
- Opportunities for remote work
As a new social worker, you will receive a clear introduction and training tailored to your needs. You will also become part of "Yrkesresan" – a national initiative to strengthen the introduction and competence development for social workers within child and youth services.

About the Department
We are here for people. We offer various types of support to children, young people, families, and adults who, in some way, need our interventions. We provide people with the support they need so that they can then move forward on their own to work, studies, or otherwise receive help to develop. We care for our elderly when they need support in their daily lives. We are one of the few municipalities in Sweden with a consolidated social services department. This means that public authority tasks as well as treatment and supportive interventions are located in the same department. We see this as a huge strength. We create value for our citizens and contribute to a good and dignified life – for everyone, regardless of circumstances. We place great emphasis on early interventions and preventive work, professional and individually adapted support. We are a learning workplace – we make each other better through our quality work focused on those we serve. We are the Social and Care Administration – part of Hudiksvall Municipality.
About Hudiksvall Municipality
In the middle of Sweden, by the beautiful Hälsingland coast, lies Hudiksvall Municipality – perhaps better known as "Glada Hudik" (Happy Hudik). Here live 37,600 happy residents, and more than half of us live in the countryside.
In Hudiksvall Municipality, distances are short to most things you want to do and need, and you have time left over for what is important in life. Here you have proximity to contrasting environments, an active club life, and a business community with great drive – many world-leading companies have their headquarters in our municipality.
Hudiksvall Municipality is the largest employer in the municipality. Together we are 3,800 employees, within 300 different professions, who work every day to create value for those we serve – our citizens. This is a large and important task that should be permeated by security, openness, participation, and equality. In this way, we help each other build a society where all people are equally valuable.
