Job Description
Are you a social worker and want to contribute to children and young people growing up in safe and loving environments?
We are now looking for a Family Home Secretary for the Recruitment Unit within Välfärd Gävle. Here, you will play a crucial role in recruiting and assessing foster homes and contact families for children and young people in need of support. Together, we make Gävle better.
The Recruitment Unit is centrally located in Gävle. Our unit consists of 19 employees and a unit manager. As a Family Home Secretary, your main tasks will be to recruit and assess various types of service providers, primarily focusing on contact families and foster homes. Other central responsibilities include drawing up agreements and handling financial matters.
As a Family Home Secretary at our organization, you will belong to the Authority Office, which collaborates closely with Välfärd Gävle's assessment units. We offer meaningful and exciting tasks with independent professional responsibility and a broad network of contacts. You will be involved in developing our work for children and young people as well as for our service providers.
As a Family Home Secretary, you will among other things:
- Conduct assessments and evaluations of contact and foster homes and contact persons.
- Draft agreements and handle administrative processes related to assignments.
- Provide information and support regarding fees, allowances, and economics.
- Collaborate with social secretaries, foster homes, contact families, and other partners.
- Contribute to the development of working methods and quality within the foster care service.

Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a degree in Social Work (Social Worker).
- Has good documentation habits and can express yourself well both orally and in writing.
- Hold a valid driver's license (Category B) and feel confident driving for work purposes.
- Have good reading comprehension and the ability to analyze, compile, and draw conclusions from extensive information.
- Demonstrate a professional attitude and a strong commitment to the safety, development, and upbringing conditions of children and young people.
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience with child welfare investigations as well as assessments of contact families and foster homes.
- Experience in recruiting, assessing, and investigating foster homes.
- Knowledge of and experience with the Treserva activity system.
- Experience in exercising authority within the social services sector.

A certificate of good conduct (extract from the police register) is required for this position. This will only be requested from the final candidate in the last step of the recruitment process.
Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent, start date: 2026-10-01 Or by agreement.
Working hours: Daytime.
