The Directorate for Individual and Family Care in Sandviken Municipality has a function-based organization. Within the directorate's area of responsibility are child and youth care, addiction care, financial assistance, family law, as well as administration and supervision according to the Alcohol Act. The directorate has a well-developed outpatient care for children, young people, and their families, as well as for adults. We actively work on implementing Signs of Safety in all parts of the directorate.

Sandviken Municipality's youth residential home is aimed at young people who, for various reasons, cannot live at home with their parents. The activity consists of an HVB (Home for Care or Board) section with eight places for young people between 13 and 20 years old, and a supported housing section with eight places for young people between 16 and 20 years old. Our mission is to contribute to high-quality home-based solutions by providing emergency, assessment, and treatment places in social services' youth cases.

At the youth residential home, we offer you a dynamic and developmental work environment where you get the opportunity to shape the activity together with an engaged and supportive team. Now that one of our youth pedagogues is going on parental leave, we are looking for a substitute for approximately one year on a fixed-term contract.

Job Responsibilities

We are a youth residential home passionate about creating a safe and supportive environment for young people. With Signs of Safety at the center, we work to strengthen the young people's own resources and create sustainable solutions together with them.

Your role at the youth residential home is to:

• plan and carry out treatment work together with the placed young people, based on care and implementation plans
• guide and support young people in an individualized way in their daily activities
• be responsible for the practical work with the young people and, together with your colleagues, ensure that assessment or treatment planning is carried out
• work according to the methods MI (Motivational Interviewing), trauma-informed care, and low-arousal approach
• collaborate internally and externally and participate in the development of working methods together with the manager and colleagues

You are part of a team with a specialist social worker and a group leader with assessment responsibility, who together deliver assessments based on assignments from social secretaries. The work involves contact with guardians and other parts of the young person's private and professional network. You assist the group leader in collecting the information needed for the assessment. The time with the young people during their placement has clear goals and purposes, which means you perform structured activities during work shifts together with the young people individually or in groups. As a contact person, you will have a special responsibility for a couple of the young people living at the home. Ongoing documentation for follow-up of placements is also included. An important part of the assignment is to motivate young people to contact and participate in activities with you and other adults at the home.

The position involves evening, weekend, and on-call duties, as well as a number of work shifts with a wakeful night.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who:

• Are passionate about working with young people and their families
• Have relevant higher education (at least a two-year post-secondary education) in social work or equivalent
• Have experience working with young people in vulnerable life situations, preferably within HVB, supported housing, social services, or other treatment activities.
• Have a very good ability to build trust and cooperation with young people and their networks.
• Are driven, responsible, and have the ability to see the big picture.
• Have a positive and solution-oriented approach.

A valid driver's license (Category B) is required.
